I thought the bowling on TV today was GREAT! I was routing for the winner since the very beginning! Love his style ..don't want to say too much at this time!

I get the points supporting silence, but if it allows for more money, I don't think the players will mind the noise at all. Pretty much all the pros have stated the atmosphere was amazing. If college bowlers can overcome the noise, I'm sure its not a problem for the pros.

The crowd noise I can adjust to, it is the noise/non-sense being generated by Stone/Peterson, the sport can do without.  Bowling is trying to be taken serious and promote the product and those two are turning it into a circus atmosphere. As a bowler, I find them to be an insult to our intelligence.

Time to move on, maybe use Barnes or Kelly Kulick as regulars providing intelligent input.  Kulick does a tremendous job during WPBA evenets explaining the technology and lane adjustments.  FOX please cut ties and improve the TV product.  This match play tournament show was a step in the right direction lets keep the ball rolling in the right direction.

I heard Stu Williams did a really good job commentating on the Japan Cup live stream.

I think the players can get used to the constant noise, as long as someone doesn't throw up a huge "FLUFFHEAD" sign during their approach.  O'neil threw a bad shot, but he didn't give an indication that it was because of the sign.  Better focus than me.

Don't some college programs train by having other kids line up beside the approach on both sides and try to distract the bowler with yelling and clapping?  Thought I heard someone say that.  Seems like when I am in the zone virtually nothing short of someone on my approach can distract me.  I assume many pros can take that to the next level.  +1 to time for new blood announcing.  Barnes is infinitely more likable and dare I say knowledgeable than Pedersen.

Sounds like a good way to train your focus.. Like keys on the putting green, like Tiger Woods' dad did.

With the addition of Belmonte and Troup, I wonder what is going through Pedersen and Stone's heads.

Someone is actually complaining about the noise?  You notice how not once at Bayside has anyone ever complained about being distracted?  I've been saying this since the beginning, bowling is a noisy sport period, and when reduced to absolute silence for a tv show, any small noise or movement is going to be distracting when isolated.  This way there's crazy stuff going on everywhere, everything blends in.

I can't believe we're three pages in and no one has mentioned the ridiculous best of two system.  As soon as the show starts, Rob and Randy start in with the "ooo, we might have a roll off!" and it feels exactly like what it is: someone in an office wanted to manufacture more sudden death faceoffs at the cost of common sense.  Two game matches are fine, just use total pinfall.

Other than that, I loved the playoffs.  Love the crowd, and I'm so glad Rob is back.  This was the best attempt at a playoff format they've done so far.

I dont disagree about the format, though they said the same thing 50+ years ago when the step ladder was introduced.
