Title: Sure Lock vs. Gauntlet
Post by: earlyrolling on April 23, 2017, 10:51:21 AM
1. Which ball (Sure Lock or Gauntlet) carries better from deep inside (retains more energy)?

2. Do both balls above take well to surface changes (incl. polish)?

Just by surface and coverstock I would have to say the guantlet would retain more energy.

Many have polished their sure lock with good success.

U can't miss with either it seems.

The sure lock is more of a solid
The guantlet looks to be more hybrid (more length)

Neither should be allergic to oil.

I really can't miss either ball....

To me it's more virtual gravity (sure lock) versus Critical theory (gauntlet).  More often than not the virtual matched up best on heavier shots.  The Critical would have its moments...But not be my go to.

My vote is surelock, but u cant miss with either...

I know it's another choice, but another good looking ball coming out of KY is the Mako. Looks a little cleaner and more on the back than the other two.

Mako is a good choice, if you want a cheaper option the Impulse solid is a good piece. You can get deep with it being a solid and still get to the pocket and carry.
