Arm Tendinitis
« on: January 09, 2019, 10:24:27 AM »
Hi Guys,

I have been having some shooting arm pain starting just above the wrist and extending up the arm and into the bicep.  Has anyone experienced relief from any type of sleeve or arm band?  I am currently wearing a Storm forearm strap, but it only provides a small amount of relief and I'd like to find something that works better.  Any help would be appreciated!

When I was recovering from my last bout with elbow tendinitis, I used the Band-It arm brace. It worked well helping me bowl while I was getting progressively better but before 100% recovery. I don’t know about how it compares to the Storm strap you’re using.

My experience with this is that no strap will completely mask the pain associated with significant tendinitis. When I was going through physical therapy for my own serious tendinitis, my therapist discouraged the use of a strap at all. Using straps as a band-aid has its own risks.

Consider resting the arm for awhile and fix the problems that caused the tendinitis in the first place. That’s the permanent solution.

Have you considered dropping to 14lbs? I too used the Band-It, but ultimately had to just take a break from the game. After a year off, I drilled a few 14lbs equipment and worked my way back up to 15lbs.

I use a Band-IT arm strap that I tie on my forearm, just before the elbow! Since I started using it, all of my elbow tendinitis issues have disappeared!

See your doctor to determine exactly what is causing the pain, then you can better figure out the solutions.
