Title: Survey: What do you do for a living?
Post by: Ramtart on October 05, 2005, 03:44:58 AM
Hey everyone, I know this is most likely a re-post, but I know bowlers come from all walks of life. Blue collar, white collar, etc. My team consists of a Grocery Store Manager, a Nurse, & a stay at home Dad. I myself work in Human Resources at an Insurance company.

After bowling for the last 15 years, I've met people in all different kinds of work. From Postal Carriers to Business people to plumbers. You name it. Bowling attracts a wide range of people. Pretty neat eh? (I just said "eh," and I'm not Canadian hehe)

Ramtart,

What kind of degree, if any, do you have for the human resources position, and is the pay decent?  I'm asking because I'm thinking of doing that myself, and someone in the know would help me out a lot on my decision.

Myself, I'm a switchboard operator/ information systems on call person for a local community hospital on the overnight shift. I'm just starting my 4th year there and I love it.

As far as my teammates, one of them is an accountant, one works in the payroll department for a local hospital, another works in information systems for a computer company and the fourth delivers furniture.

Financing is the buisiness, but I handle titling and lien releases for Daimler Chrysler. Going close to 5 years. Good job...but it was better before the merger of Chrysler and Mercedes Benz and working for Mercedes Benz was much better times. But the company is strong and truly belive that Daimler Chrysler will be the number 1 selling american car company. We've already quietly passed Ford last year or so and will be passing General Motors real soon.

I'm going to assume that you are referring to Karaoke as the Crew Dog skills were established thanks to the AF. Being a Karaoke DJ is only as hard as you make it. I actually started doing it as something to pass the time while stationed in Portugal. I used to frequent this club and I would hear about how "horrible" people thought the DJ was so I told someone " If you think you can do better why don't you apply for his job!" I took my own advice and turned out that people liked the show that I put on. 4 years later I'm still having a blast! :-)
