Title: Tackiest ball cleaner?
Post by: duvallite on February 07, 2021, 06:25:51 PM
Which cleaner leaves the tackiest surface on the ball?  I  just cleaned my Venom Shock with some LMB Extreme cleaner to get belt marks off, and the ball doesn't seem tacky at all.

Genesis Evolution Maxx Orange works phenomenally well.

Cleaner does not make a surface tacky, it just cleans. The cover material is tacky, and if you have a non-porous shell it won't become tacky unless you use illegal methods (= soaker era ;-))

Wipe your ball surface with a damp cloth(water only, not ball cleaner) to remove any cleaner residue and the surface will be tacky after cleaning....usually.

Great advice.  The OG Track Clean and Dull directions were clean 1/2 the ball with C&D then wipe down with damp paper towel which would leave a squeaky tacky feel.  I'd do the same with Hook-IT and have the same results.  Those two deep cleaners will remove lane shine.  I have not experienced lane shine removal with any alcohol based ball cleaner myself.

I ended up re-cleaning the ball using some Clean and Dull, and now the ball is squeaky clean again.  Not sure what the issue was with the LMB Extreme, but probably won't use it again. Besides, it's smell is way too strong. Thanks everyone.

Neo-Tac Hook It. Best cleaner on the market, IMHO.
