Well unless your desperate I do not know if you should go this far but there are a few method to restore the NIB Tackiness that you loved so dearly. They both involve chemicals you might not have access too unless you are a Chemist, or know one.
#1
Soak the ball in Methyl Ethyl Ketone for 10 minutes, rinse and check, then repeat if desired.
#2
Do this one outdoors or under a fume hood.
Soak the ball in Chloroform for 3 minutes, rinse, repeat if desired.

To restore tachyl, I just use a mixture of simple green and water, it seems to work very well and is inexpensive. 50/50 usually does the trick...

Track Magic Shine - applied with a spinner is the king of tacky, and is very good applied by hand.

just as an FYI, the MEK (as well as Acetone) are readily available in the Bowling Supply err, painting supplies aisle at Home Depot.

Use Neo Tac's "Hook It". There may be better deep cleaning items out there but this is the best deep cleaning item that I am aware of and it will make your ball tacky again. It is ABC approved. I've tried the soap and hot water method and have found the Neo Tac "Hook It" to do a much better job.....at least for me it does. Just be careful and keep it off the fingergrips and thumb slug as it will damage them if you don't. Read and follow the instructions on the bottle.

Snowman.. I've just purchased a Brunswick Power Groove Proative... I've also been trying to get some info on keeping that NIB tacky feeling.. I baught some Liquid Nitro.. it works BUT at 10.oo bux for a 6oz. bottle is nuts.. NOT going with the oven..BUT hearing alot about Simple Green and or Dawn soaking methods.. It works.. Thats going to be my next route after my Liquid Nitro is gone..

Track's Clean and Dull does a very good job at restoring "tack" to balls as well. Don't let the name fool you though, it won't dull up polished balls. Nor does it polish dull ones like Re-New it will.

Redneck, the Liquid Nitro is a great cleaner for cleaning your ball between games and / or after each league session. I use it too. You can buy it from Blockbuster for $5.95 per bottle.

The Re-New It will polish the ball slightly. It is intended for use on Pearl Balls and not dull balls. It cleans, but doesn't deep clean as well as Hook It does. The Hook It leaves the shiny covers shiny and the dull covers dull. It does not change the cover. I'm not familiar with Clean & Dull from Track.
