What if your Favorite bowling center had this...
« on: March 01, 2005, 10:38:33 PM »
What if the center issued free 'club cards' to each league bowler that they could use to accumulate points each time it was used to buy bowling games, food or pro shop items.  These points could then be redeemed for free bowling, pro shop items or food.

If it's money you are spending anyway, wouldn't it make sense to have and use the card?  What do you guys think?

In the neighboring town of Duisburg they have a simple bonus program. For each game you can collect a stamp on a card - for every 10 games you get 1 free. But this only counts for non-price-off offers. Prices range up to EUR 3,50,- (more tahn $ 4,-! Bowling in Germany is an expensive hobby/sport) per game on Friday evenings, so this is quite interesting.

Additionally, many houses have bulk game offers. You can buy up to 100 games in advance and get a price-off of up to 25%, but your games are only valid for a certain period of time. Thereafter, any leftover game on your account is gone (pffft...) and there is no reimbursement. Therefore, not a great offers, just a blunt attempt to chain players to a house.

We don't accumulate points, but we do get $2/game and 10% (15%?) off in the pro shop, not that any of us shop there (Rudy Revs has a shop about an hour away that's so much better).

It would be nice to be able to save up for some nicer stuff, but I'd rather have the cheap(er) bowling than pay regular price and get points.
