Thomas Larsen is going to change company too,

Surprised that Smallwood is no longer with Radical. Did they dump him when they signed AA?

It really is not that surprising at all if you think about it.  He rarely makes a show and the last time he did; the balls he used looked really bad.  He has won only 3 times in 15 years being a pro (granted 2 of the 3 are majors.  Being a staff player is all about exposure and only making 3 shows in the past 3 years isnt exposing much.

There are a lot of people on staff, that have done far less than he has but still have a staff contract. IDK why Radical doesn't think they need more than 1 national staff member to get exposure.

While this is true.  There are different levels of staff contracts ranging from pro shop to regional to national and each has its own criteria for promoting the brand.

With that said, this also could have been a cost cutting measure since bowling was on hiatus for quite a while.  As we all know Radical is not a big player on the market like Brunswick, Ebonite, and Storm.  So of course they wont have nearly the amount of staff guys as those other companies.  It is very possible that if Smallwood was a bowler that even came close to bowlers like Prather who make a handful of shows and win a couple titles he may still be on staff.  But we still dont know the specifics behind the split.  Just have to wait and see.

Smallwood may not have wanted to be on staff also so they had to promote someone to that position. Not many can make a living on just plainly bowling so maybe Smallwood found something else.

Another valid point.  Maybe he believes he would be more successful throwing other brands.  Definitely possible.

Apparently Smalls left on his own. Perhaps Motiv would be a good landing spot for him?

I can see c300 and hammer cutting people since they are extremely top heavy with staffers and with the reduced sales/exposure it would make sense
