The bowling world has lost 2 good people within the past 2 weeks. First, Tom Strobl who was the proprietor of Detroit's Thunderbowl Lanes passed away at the age of 81. He was a huge part of launching the original PBA World Series of Bowling back in 2009 which was considered an experiment at the time. Also, Thunderbowl has had a large part of PBA history, hosting many major tournaments and most recently the USBC Masters.

Then a few days ago, former PBA touring player and Rookie of the Year Billy Oatman passed away. He made history by becoming the first ever African American PBA Rookie of the Year in 2006-07, along with being the oldest bowler to ever win the award at the age of 41. Having watched several shows where he appeared, he always had a fun demeanor and a good smooth style to go along with it.

Wow that sucks. Prayers to their families. Good ole Billy O was fun to watch. He has been taken away too soon.
