Post by: 9orbetter on May 02, 2012, 06:53:56 PM
Finished reading his book a few days ago (got it early) and would like to say it is an excellent read. Breaks down the fundamentals of first having a strong physical game. Very simple to apply to my practice sessions. 9....

Just ordered one, too. Not many have caught my interest up until now.

I have read it once with immediate improvement on my game. I am going through it again with a highlighter!!
The best $25 investment in your bowling game I can think of. Great ideas to work on your physical game and it's consistency.

I did the same, lol. Nothing wrong with a re-read with a highlighter. Its helps.

And I plan to do the same thing, too. A great read...highly recommended. Even though I haven't had a chance out on the lanes to try what I think will help me, I feel like I am better already...

Got the Kindle version.  Interesting read thus far.  Will see how I feel after I get past all the intro stuff.

660 out of the chute tonight. I'm not sure how good my footwork was, but I only had two opens, and had better balance at the line all night. Maybe I don't need Camp Bakes! Lol!!

My main issue to address is the crossover step...

Is this the same crossover step that Slowinsky talks about in his "Swing Slot" article on bowlingknowledgeinfo.com?

Yep, pretty much the same. As a kid who wore his dad's old 1953 Hyde leather-soled shoes, I had always been a "shuffler" in my approach. It's still a hard habit to break...and it doesn't lend itself to good footwork with modern equipment!

Finished reading the book.  Really great stuff.  Showed me a couple of keys that have always plagued me about timing.  I have been able to work on them in practice.  Tonight will be my first chance a trying them in the sport league.  Viper pattern.  In our house, the oil seems to disappear by the end of warmups.  Hopefully, I will be more consistent.  Tired of seeing my sport league average 40 pins below my league average.
