Funny.  I was just thinking that.  So the "hottest ball" right now for me is the Kinetic Energy.

If they could compete with Roto-Grip's price points I bet they'd sell a lot more equipment.  They make good balls, but the cost just isn't worth it in my opinion.  Lane Masters is similar in that sense to me.

I probably don't see enough oil to make this ball a worthwhile choice for me, either.

However, I use multiple manufacturers -- used four tonight, actually -- and drill my own stuff. I'd had some issues getting Lane #1 balls to match up to me a long time ago when I was a speed-dominant, low-rev, high-track player. As I got older and worked with several different coaches, I transitioned to a tweener-rev, speed/rev match, low- to mid-track player -- and my matchup problems with Lane #1 went away.

I'd thrown primarily AMF (back when Mo Pinel was still designing balls for them), then Storm (and to a lesser extent, Roto Grip) up to about two years ago, when I tried a couple of Lane #1 balls out of, basically, desperation, because I just could not quit getting bit by over/under (and plus, I'd started drilling my own stuff, and it became easier and cheaper to experiment).

What I've found is that Lane #1 has developed a bad reputation from many who hate their marketing, their pricing philosophy, the names of the balls, you name it -- but that the bad rep is undeserved when performance is taken into account.

I'm not going to say that Lane #1's advertising is spot-on with its claims (no one's is, for that matter -- I took plenty of marketing classes in college and I know what's up). I will, however, say that I've drilled equipment from 12 different manufacturers for myself over the past 1-2 years and the greatest success I've had has been with Lane #1's stuff.

I'm not big into marketing BS, but I'm also not big into watching people laugh at others over something they don't understand, haven't tried for themselves or something irrelevant to the discussion (i.e., Lane #1's marketing BS vs. whether the stuff actually performs). Quite frankly, a lot of folks come off looking pretty bad when they do that.

Maybe in a few years, I'll change my primary ball company again, when my style changes or when the conditions I see change. Right now, Lane #1 gear will be the first out of my bag.

So what did I use tonight? Lane #1 Gold Nugget and G-Force Evolution, Storm Power Agent (overseas), Roto Grip Retro Resurrection and an AMF Ninja Master (yes, a few of those old things still exist). Thanks to that old Ninja Master, I managed to smooth out a very tough wet-dry shot and win 2 of 3 points after making the switch. Tonight was not a good night for my Lane #1 gear. Last week, I shot 678 with it. I'd say it ends up being my go-to stuff three out of every four weeks.

High series of the night on our 22-team league, by the way, was the guy one pair to my left who shot between 750-780 with a Buzzbomb/R. So keep laughing, folks.

Quick question...if you're comfort zone is around 2nd to 3rd arrow and you can strike with any of the entry level balls on THS why would you want to move the 4th arrow out of your comfort zone even to open up the lane?  Does anyone really think you are going to hit a deep inside line consistently to use a ball that hooks at your feet?

I gotta wonder whether it's Lane #1 or any other mfg.  FYI.......I am not jumping on the New Breed line either for the same reason......why would one with their brain on????

When I think of the hottest ball on the market, I think of a ball that is selling a lot and cannot be kept on the shelves at pro shops. I do not know how well this ball is selling, but I am going to take a wild guess and say that it is probably selling as good as any other Lane #1 ball has... Just a person's opinion.

Have yet to see anyone use it so I'll take your word for it. Everyone in my area is using the Cell or the Dimension or the Sauce to put up big scores.
I guess it's the hottest ball  someplace other than where I bowl.

LOVE the AO. But the hottest ball on the market is likely still the Cell or Cell Pearl. Love the CP...don't have much use for the original.

The AO is incredible...too bad many won't get to use due to price level.

For Brickguy---I never matched up with either BuzzBonb (especially the /R) but the AO is an incredible ball. I am amazed at the versatility during lane transition. The only other Lane #1 ball I would credit that with is the THS, though the THS handles much less oil.

I agree, I touched my friends Agent Orange and it certainly felt warmer than his Cell.

Oh, bad joke. I'm ok with it.

Last thing I need is another huge hooking ball.  Give me a ball that will clear burnt up heads and then move through carry down without having to stand on the gutter and I'm in.

You guys are missing the point of T-GOD's post...

The ball is named Agent Orange (you know fire ect..) so this is inded the "hottest" ball on the market

There are no other fire names out right now, so this ball is a shoe-in !

You have a point with the name.
No one else has equated a jungle defoliant with bowling.
Don't see the "hot" though. Maybe most destructive.

I will laugh because I have seen 3 800's this year at 3 different houses, not only were none of them with Lane#1 stuff, but all 3 were Roto Grip.  2 Cell Pearls and a Pluto.

Great that Lane1 works for you, but my bet is if you tried Ebonite, Storm or Roto, and gave them a serious shot you would get better value for your money, and a better quality ball.

I had a Super Carbide Bomb and that thing was a POS. Biggest waste of $230 ever.  I could have gotten 2 Roto Grip balls for that.

BTW hottest ball means they are selling like hotcakes.  Only reason you can't find that ball is most pro shops don't carry Lane1 equipment because it doesn't see.

Hottest ball on the market right now is the Cell Pearl, with the Virtual Gravity right on it's heels.

Agent Orange was a chemical defoliant and a carcinogen.
