Ever go to "Moonlight" bowling to make money??

Basically if you strike on the colored pins and make you splits, you get $.50 - $10. So it's free bowling + whatever else you make.

Back in the 80's when my local house had moonlight bowling (and part of the 90's), you would get a dollar for a red head pin strike, and if the colored pins appeared in the 1-7-10 spots and you struck it was $10. Splits varied from $ .50 for a baby split to $50 for the 7-10. You also got money for games over 200, and I think a 300 game was $100.

Sometimes for the $10 fee to bowl I would come away making double that...but most of the time it was a donation as the lanes were very dry.

I made 16/19 money shots this weekend while with some non-bowling friends...I had to use the money toward free beer for them

Sure.  What I like about it is they usually put out a more difficult tournament shot here.  Cuts down of the natural strikes, but a great opportunity to throw on something besides a THS.

Some places pay decent for the colored pins.  Our place does $1, $2, $5 + snackbar nachos for 4 in a row natural + $5 for 5 in a row natural.  Not too far away, they do $2, $5, and $10 for the colored pins.  I don't see how the house makes any money because it's an incredibly easy shot.  The real money is in the strike pots.  If it doesn't get hit the first 2 games, it might go for $700 the 3rd.

We have a colored pin up here in the summer...if the headpin is a certain color and you strike, it's either $1, $2, or $3 depending on the color...if the 7-10 are both colored...$8....1-2-3 colored is worth $15...along with pot games and $10 and $20 strike shots...for around $20 you can have a pretty nice pay day
Winning pots is tough though...last week 276 scratch didn't pay out (they go to 3 spots)
