a good skid flip ball?
« on: May 06, 2004, 04:14:41 AM »
my friend just bought a triple x, it rolls early but its smooth in its finish. the v2 clean is just that, really clean. he wants a ball he can really open up lane with. maybe a little more skid flip. he has above ave. hand action but prefers to stroke the ball. any suggestions

I'd have too agree with the savage flip... i got one 2nd hand, the pin is about 4.75 inches from my pap ( which is too long for me), but the ball still works.  On lanes with heavy oil put it away, or in cases with carry down.  I've recommended it to 3 bowlers already. 2 are strokers like me, one is a cranker.  All love it.  One has already shot his first 300.  The cranker shot 266 right out of the gate.  And several high games in the first 3 days alone (250+).

I'm an above ave rev, stroker speed. For me it has very good recovery, (as with all pearls, put it away when the oil is too much).  And a strong forward roll after the break.  I've ordered two more, one for an earlier roll layout, one for stocking.  For me its up there with the tiger.

Sorry for the long post.

regards

The Crunch Time might not be a bad option either...

I would recommend a Cherry Bomb by Lane 1.  I've had mine for a full season now, and this ball hits.  the only downfall I've seen is extreme dry, and floods.  Otherwise this ball needs a left turn signal on the back end.  I don't know is tthis will help, or if it even is in the category that you are looking for, but I love this ball.

Columbia Flipside Ego or the new Detour. Two of the best skid-flip balls I've seen!
