When ordering a ball , what does top weight effect ?

a higher top weight usually pushes the ball downlane farther before it reacts

I thought it had more to do with RG/differential than anything.

JohnP, I know this ball is at least 3/16" to short. But the thing is, if i make the span longer, and keep the thumb pitches the same. I will hang up in the ball.
