Tried first sport shot today
« on: December 04, 2005, 08:43:39 AM »
My first try on a sport shot today in a tournament none the less
was quite an eye opening experience.
The shot was 45 foot long and at least 60 units of oil
across the lane. Ten minutes of practice to warm up and I was still
struggling to get to the pocket consistently. First game I shot
143 followed by a 192 and a 179. I didn't feel to bad about the first
3 games considering it was the first time I have seen a shot like this.
I was in the last posistion to make cut after the third game but shot a
whopping 115 the last game. I am disappointed from the fact that I shot a 115 game but bowling on such a tough shot was a great experience none the less. Not that our league shot is the great wall of china but it is
quite a bit easier than today. It was my first sport shot experience but not my last for sure it felt great to run into a real demanding shot and make some quality shots and see the local flingers that do good on our league
shot really struggle and confused. Anyone else really enjoy the first time bowling on a sport shot?

First time I bowled sport I shot 666. Thought hey, this is easy. Promptly shot 469 the second time on the same shot. I'm now in a sport league and averaging 190 (and actually proud of that average, second high in league).

Yeah bowled on my first sport shot last year in the Teen Masters. And like you, after about 5 mins of practice, I found no consistent line to the pocket. The first shot I got lucky and struck but opened up the next 4 shots. I think I came out of that game with a 123 or something of the sort. Made a ball switch and averaged about 175 the remaining five games with a high of 192.

Definately an good experience. You have to be super consistent in your speed, revs, tilt, rotation and all. Made the most difficult house in the area, my home lanes, look like a piece of cake.

Stanski, You should be real proud of that 190 average. Thats about a 205 average on a THS. I'm looking forward to this summer and next winter to a tougher shot.

Hehe, check his profile for his THS averages.

Speaking of sport shots, I'm heading to a sport shot tournament on the 17th.  Sport shots alone are interesting, but in a tourney scenario this should be pretty fun.  Fun, meaning bad.
