1st League night update - (Sand Bagging NOT!)
« on: May 27, 2003, 04:11:39 PM »
Played in my first league game last night. Was very nervous. But I found myself playing well. Bowled about 10 Pins higher than Normal in each of my first 2 games. 3rd game I was relaxed and kind of lost focus. Didnt do well that game.

Winning and Losing are both very temporary things. Having done one or the other, we move on. Gloating over Victory or Sulking in Defeat is a good way to Stand Still.

Good for you.  First time out is a little nerve wracking.  I bowled my first tournament a couple of weeks ago.  I could not believe how nervous I was.  To top it off - due to an input error, I ended up as anchor!  The other team we shared lanes with was slow on the approach, so for every game I had to roll the 10th frame after everyone else was done and waiting to move lanes. Talk about pressure.  Luckily, I struck on each 1st ball.  Can't say the other two were as lucky.

The nerves get easier each week, but you find that you want to better yourself each week.  But some weeks the ball, the lanes and your body are not cooperating.  You do your best and practice for the next week.
