Just for the sake of fun, I tried this week to bowl two handed... Results were interesting, both good and bad points.. I am wondering if this IS the new style/alternative style that youngsters will try, and not so youngsters will give it a go (like myself).. There seems to be more two handers in league than what there were in the last 5 yrs or so.
Me personally,I felt that speed and carry were good, it also allows a more consistant approach, in that the armswing is a little more controlled as your supporting helps keep the ball straight in the backswing and primed for a strong release...
On a side note, know a young guy, average has picked up around 30 pins with this technique, u can't deny that is one hell of an improvement within a season!
The negatives, my hip hurts this week after 16 games, I think I must have got a bit sloppy on the approach last night, paying for it now. sob!!
Anyway, love to read any thoughts on this topic, from all bowlers and chiropracters/doctors.
Has anyone out there switched from the traditional one handed fingertip to two handed, if so, how are you faring with it... I must admit I am thinking about it for a three month trial period. Unsure!!
Bascially what i am looking at is the sheer power/speed/rev of this kind of delivery. It is impressive, but at what price - your longevity in the sport.
Take care
