So I was at the shop the other day getting another Vintage DZ drilled up, and while I was waiting for my PSO to drill up my new ball, I noticed the weight on the box was marked 15 lbs 0 oz. and it got me thinking why can't bowling balls be a uniform weight? We all know drilling holes into a bowling ball will remove approx 2-3 ounces after drilling so why can't manufacturers make all balls 15 lb balls, 15 lbs 4 oz for example to account for ounces lost after putting holes in it?
Essentially my new Zone is still 15 lbs, albeit a "light" 15 lbs or a really heavy 14 lbs, and although it won't effect ball performance or carry power it just bugs me that ball manufacturers can't make all balls with a few extra ounces to account for drilling...for those who want a "true" weighted bowling ball.
Call me OCD with bowling balls but I just think it would be nicer if they made all balls equally weighted is all. Rant over.
