Question about my PAP: 4 over, 3/8 up...
« on: February 03, 2008, 04:35:42 PM »
But I don't track "low." I would say it's somewhere in the middle. And I cover quite a large circumference of the ball.

I don't spin it, I don't have any problem with the ball deflecting or the ball failing to drive.

Yet, I look at these tech tips on the MoRich site and others, and hear that my measurements qualify me as a low-tracker. Mo's site even calls it spinning the ball, but I don't spin it.

Now here's the questions: Am I weird, and do I need to change anything?

Thanks. I can already modify my release quite a bit. I just read some of this stuff and start feeling unstable.

Back when I threw with a wrist brace, my PAP was about 5 1/2 over, no up. I ditched the brace, and found I could move my track all over the place by how I held my hand and what I did at release.

It's nice to have that kind of versatility. I guess I should say that 4 over 3/8 up is my "usual" PAP, but not my PAP all the time.

Your PAP says you are a low to low/medium tracker.  But that doesn't necessarily mean you spin the ball.  You have to look at axis tilt (related to track diameter) to determine that.  You're not weird, and I would not recommend changing anything as long as you're satisfied with your ball reaction.  --  JohnP

Yeah, that actually sounds almost exactly like my PAP...I believe mine is around 4.5 over and 1 up.  I'm a medium tracker.

Nothing weird about it.  Like JohnP said...if you're happy with it, then don't change a thing.
