Knowing those two have a history, was there any drama between the two? Or did they both behave like grown men?
(For those who don't know, Machuga made it public his strong dislike for two handed bowling. Even banning them from his own tournaments).
-
Watched it, neither made eye contact and walked away from the other after every shot. Chugs left a stone cold 10 pin that cost him the match, and it was a great match. THey made eye contact and shook hands at the end. No real drama. Chugs was rolling a old school Blue Hammer made in 1990. I think Belmo rolled a pitch black..
-
I believe that's what the drama was machuga being much like boss and taking the stance against him
-
When Choogs rang the tenpin to lose he yelled "SONOFAB*TCH!" really loud and punched the floor. It was about as good as a shot as you could throw for a ring ten in a match that back and forth.
It made for an awkward moment, but it happens.
-
Machuga should stick to regionals. He sin't good enough to be on the tour anymore. It's Belmonte and everybody else.
-
That comment is just ignorant. His game is still very solid, he still throws it great. And as evidenced by his qualifying numbers and the match he gave Belmo, you don't have a damn clue what you are talking about
-
Isn't Machuga the one that made the big rant some odd years back about how the PBA had become too easy and pointed out a bunch of issues but didn't actually identify solutions. Just b*tched and acted like he was above it now.
..or am I thinking of another guy similar to him?
-
I think you are correct. After Machuga disconnected himself from all of his sponsors, he pretty much spilled his guts on his opinion about the PBA and bowling in general. Brian Voss has also been very vocal for the past few years, so i'm not sure which one you are thinking of, but they both have drawn attention for their positions and opinions.
I was surprised to see Machuga bowling at the Masters, to be honest. He was wearing and throwing Motiv gear, but not sure if it is in an official capacity. His continued participation shows that he still loves the game, even though his opinion about parts of it appear to make him look like he has come to despise some aspects.

I think I've read both at some point now that you mention it. It's Machugas then of the two I was thinking.

Armchair bowler sighting!!
-
I only speak the truth. Machuga is a dinosaur. He's bringing a knife to a gun fight. He is no longer relevant.

Never go unarmed into a duel of wits.

Machuga should.....
Obv we have an authority here on what Machuga should/should not do..... ::)
-
Mr. NikonGuy
Your entitled to your opinion, but you are dead wrong. You apparently did not see the match between Machuga and Belmonte. If you did, I don't believe you would be taking the position you are.
If you think Machuga didn't belong bowling in the Masters (only good enough for Regionals), then drive over to Erie, PA and challenge him to a three game winner take all for say a cool 10 grand.
Then come back here and post what you then think regarding his bowling skills/abilities to still compete on tour (if he wished). Good Luck!
-
What has Machuga done recently? He's a little fish. And Belmonte is the shark.
-
He hasn't done anything recently because he left the tour approximately two years ago and has been concentrating on running his pro shop business. If you think he's a little fish, either grab your 10 grand wager or start saving it and go challenge him. Then you'll see who the real "little fish" is and it won't be him. Once again, Good Luck!
-
I would agree completely that Belmo is the shark on tour right now. His game looks phenomenal, his mind is clear and he is executing at a very high level. If you are a Belmo fan, then great, I'm glad you have an interest.
If you have had some sort of beef with Machuga over his past statements, that's fine too. We all have opinions, let's hear it and we can discuss the details. But don't knock Machuga, or PDW, or EJ or Mike Edwards or anybody else that competes at that level simply because they didn't beat Belmo. That makes no sense.
Welcome to the boards!
-
I smell troll.
-
Machuga is only know for his flop. How embarrassing is that.
Just let that sink in for a minute.
-
One minute... Is it worse than being known as a troll on a bowling board?
-
I only speak the truth

Wonder if that invitation is open to PBA pros because Machuga would get his clocked cleaned

Wow.
-
He just wants attention...
-
The new 2handedvolcano, but with an attitude???? Buckle Up!
-
Mike Machuga was one 10 pin away from beating Belmonte in their match. I want to see the big boys on BR.com throw a 90's Blue Hammer vs. Belmonte and do as well. ;D

SO true, Chugs burried that last shot. Big break for Belmo..

Question: how far did YOU make it in the tournament? Until you make it as far or further than he did you have no room to talk. So don't.

Considering his performance that took place over last week, Mike still throws it pretty good. No ones denying that Belmo is a shark rn. The same case could be made for EJ, but whether you consider him a "little fish" or not, he's still someone I wouldn't want to bowl for a cool 10 grand.

I'm not bowling anyone that makes the top 64 cut in a PBA Major for 10 grand lol.

Agreed LOL

Machuga, always the brides maid. Tell me again when was the last time he made a TV final?
He makes one decent showing at a PBA major and everyone here is up on his balls

Did Machuga win or lose that match? Just ask yourself that question. No trophies for second place (in this case he was still far from second)

I want to see Belmo bowl with ONE hand!

Is Choogs a good bowler? Yes
Could Choogs whip me bowling with one hand tied behind his back and one foot in a cast? No doubt.
Is Choogs good enough to win on tour? Probably
Is Choogs one of the biggest douchebags known to man? ABSOLUTELY!
Full of himself and gives little to no credit to anyone.
There is a reason his peers are not too fond of him.

Not from this day moving forward. Pigs will fly before he wins another PBA event. Like I said, maybe regionals.

NikonGuy, for a newbie on this board, you do sound a professional ball review troll.
