I would like to know how you are going to get 16oz out.  Grip holes will remove about 3 to 4oz and balance hole no more than 3oz.

Is it just me or is there a D engraved above the serial number? The D might indicate that the ball was only considered a display ball originally.

not that I can see.

I beleive back when this ball was produced there were not many "blems" if that specification was used at all.

Perhaps it is a "blem" with the second character in the serial number being "B".  This is a guess but based on another Red Pearl Faball Hammer that IS listed as a 2nd so it''s plausible.

The weight won't matter unless you bowl nationals or a pba event. Other then that no one ever checks the static weights on a ball.

The B meant it was made in the Baltimore plant.  Hammer used two facilities back then, one in Baltimore and one in Utah.  There were always good arguments about some balls being better being from a certain plant......  If I remember correctly, Hammer engraved a "B" on blem balls, but I think put it inside the bullseye circles logo.

Here's a picture of a faball hammer second. It has the "S" in the faball logo.
