vertex ball spinner
« on: June 10, 2016, 04:28:00 PM »
I was thinking about buying the 1/3 hp model directly from vertex, has anyone bought one of these recently, seems cheaper to order from them than a online proshop?

One of the best investments I made in my return to bowling.
Ball speed avg. (18.25 mph)
Rev rate avg. (400-428 rpm)

Mines About 10 years and still using original belt... I have an extra belt , but I doubt I'll need it any time soon..and for home purposes, 1/2 is over kill.. But that's how I think...

Like xrayjay, I've had mine (1/2 hp) for so long that I've lost track; must be 13 - 15 years or so.
Had one problem when it was out of warranty; I sent it to them, they fixed it, didn't charge me and shipped it back free (from Michigan to NJ is not cheap for this size package).

I keep wondering when I'll have to replace but, like the Energizer bunny, it keeps on going and going and going. Can't kill it with a stick.

Small wonder they're still guaranteed even if you use it in a pro shop!! (At least it used to be; not sure now that they've been bought by Innovative.)

I have had my 1/3 HP Vertex for over 10 years and still working fine with zero problems... I clean mine after every 2-3 uses... I think if you don't keep it cleaned, that is where you develop problems as I have a few other friends that have had their less than mine that never clean or maintain there spinners...

Hope this helps & good luck!

I have had mine around 8 years.

has been very reliable, I resurface all my own equipment and allow a couple buddies to do theirs and my vertex has been rock solid the entire time

As mentioned above, I've had my 1/2 model for 7+ years and not a single issue, as one poster above mentioned, I've too wondered when I would have to replace mines as well, but it keeps trucking along.....

Money well spent.

Rico, get yourself a spinner. I have a 1/2 hp  Innovative (direct from the company) and love it.

I bought a 1/2hp direct from vertex 2 years ago and it's still going great. 5 year warranty, free shipping, 6months no interest with paypal credit. (Which they accept on the website)

Enjoy your new spinner. Great investment.

So I'm just curious, how often do you guys use your ball spinner?  Since the ball lane shines anyway after 3 games, I just hand clean/surface with scotch brite every week.  I'm wondering if spinning the ball makes a huge difference?

Depends on the ball and the amount of surface. For lower grits on bigger hooking equipment that's at say 500/1000 or 500/2000 usually after 6-9 games max.

On other bowling that aren't layered and usually left at say 2000 grit its closer to 15 games. Also depends in the number of bowling balls you have, and use. I take 6 for most big tournaments and have a few different surfaces I use from 360/1000, 500/1000, 500/2000, 2000, or 4000 that having a spinner does a great and easy job of vs trying to by hand.

Huge difference - spinner use vs doing it by hand.

I clean up or adjust my equipment just about every week depending on which league I'm bowling in.
Clean N Dull on the spinner can clean anything I've come across.

best bowling investment you can make IMO
