Anybody throwing any of that PYRAMID stuff from bowlingball.com?

Thinking about getting one of those new pearl urethane pathogen plague balls, but just wondered what type of quality to expect.

I know they're made in China, which isn't a big deal for me, just wondered if they're any count, or just junk.

I love their polyester.  Use a Path and Pathogen Blue Dot as my spare balls (latter fingertip) and have held up awesome.  Have a Path Rising which is good but overlapped quite a bit with my Blue Hammer remake so never really got a ton of use.

Pyramid stuff is just as good as anything else on the market IMO, at a less expensive price point. I enjoyed their Pathogen series the most and there is a whole arsenal you can make from them. Only issue i have is none of their equipment comes with any type of surface, all seem polished. Not a big deal as they react great. Durabilty is a question as i didn't have them for many games to really test them out time wise. Shot 290 1st gm with Blueprint.

I was curious about the  pearl urethane pathogen plague as well, because I wish there was something out now that could replace the old Natural Pearl or Supernatural. Those were true dry lane balls. The only thing out now close to that is Fever Pitch, which is much stronger.

An asymetric pearl urethane is pretty unique.

The good, but sort of bad thing about the "urethane" balls out now, is that they are either not urethane (Covert Tank, Badger Infused, Fever Pitch) or very aggressive urethane that wants to dig in. While I think overall this is a general improvement for some conditions, these balls are not good for control on lighter oil (if you have a high rev rate).

So this pathogen plague may fill in the gap, couldn't find any comparison reviews of it compared to the other urethanes.

I did recently have to get a new spare ball, ordered a mix and it had a small "made in china" sticker. Next time I went to practice the lanes where unplayable, had to use cyclone over 6th arrow, and practicing standing in front of ball return just isn't a priority now.

So just experimented with that Chinese made mix, and it just totally crushed the rack playing over 3rd arrow. I've had Mix before in a higher weight. this one seemed different, didn't realize I was getting such a good back up strike ball as well. I wish they would bring out this ball with a bit of a core. That would be the perfect light oil ball.

Pyramid balls are good. Priced at a fair price. The Plague Pearl is a very good answer to your question but lots stronger tan the mix.

My teammate throws a brownish/blackish (not to bring the race of the ball into it).....I think it's called a Sniper or something.  I have no idea what the cover is or what the core numbers are but it looks good on our high friction old wood Friday league.

Not really my cup of tea though.

When you order a Pyramid ball that isn't pearl or poly, you can specify the type of surface you want and it will be sent to you based on what you request.  Kind of a neat feature offered on the Pyramid stuff.

I have the Pyramid Blunt Force, Force Pearl, Curse and the Pathogen Plague Urethane. Their good balls and at a fair price. I've had them for quite a while now and the durability seems great, no cracks and they take surfacing well.
