Viscious cyle of success and failure
« on: April 15, 2005, 02:29:14 AM »
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

It starts out innocently enough with a night where the lanes just don't quite want to finish enough to carry, so I cup my wrist just a tiny bit more and then the carry goes up and I score well.

Next night the ball is hooking a little early so I add just a touch of speed and I score better.

Then the carry isn't there and I  remember cupping the wrist more helps so here comes more wrist.  Then more speed and more wrist and more speed and suddenly the wheels come off when I'm so far away from my comfort zone that consistancy is only a word in the dictionary.

It happens a couple times a year and so gradually I don't realize it until it is too late.

Am I alone with this problem or is it widespread, and is there a cure?

Been happening to me a lot lately...probably in conjunction with a few other things.  I have really struggled the second half of the season.
