Title: want to try an interchangeable thumb
Post by: DerangedBowler300 on July 24, 2017, 04:15:17 AM
I've been looking into it and would like to try in interchangeable thumb but I live in a small town in Nevada called minden the pro shop here says he doesn't have the stuff to do one and the next closest one in Carson said they don't either anyone know where I might be able to go to get this done without going to Reno or does anyone know where in Reno I can get this done

This might be ignorant on my part by not know how big the state is but DP3 is in Vegas and might be able to better assist you in your journey. Message him and with your question.

I have the ultimate interchangeable thumbs, I have watched my PSO install them and it looks pretty easy. I would think any PSO with some common sense would be able to install the, I know you can order them directly from their website and then maybe bring the stuff into the PSO.

The OP doesn't want to go 45 miles to Reno.  It's 400 to Vegas.

Take one of your balls (preferably the one with your favorite thumb) and send it in to BowlingBall.com and have it copied/installed on a new ball (they will also do it for the other ball if you buy the outer part. That way you have the interchangeable thumb and can try it out. If you like it, take it somewhere and have your other balls retrofitted. If not, then it'll be just like a slug that you paid $10 extra for.

Sometimes to get to a PSO that can do the job, a bowler must do what he/she must do to get things done.

I drove 45 minutes to get my IT system done. I drove two hours to get balls drilled in the past. I knew of guys who sent their balls with a truck driver bowler friend who goes to a City 3 to 4 hours away (Fresno?) to get their balls drilled by the PSO there. (there are many PSO's to choose from locally, but these guys chose someone else out of town.)

Just go to Reno and get it done there...

Contact Spence at the Grand Sierra (775-624-0300) in Reno, he does mine and I am very happy with his work!

did some checking and gold dust west in Carson City finally answered and said they could do it so now just gonna wait for my marvel pearl to get here then I'll see how long it would take them to install it in all my bowling balls

I helped my PSO do all 15 of my balls and it took about 2 hours.

Haha.  Buy one of my 15lb jackpots or the Fix and I'll throw in an inner sleeve/slug (I think I have 4 now).  😀
