Title: What Are You Throwing? (All Companies)
Post by: 2handedrook12 on October 06, 2019, 08:40:30 AM
What are you guys using at league? Is your arsenal working? Game working alongside it? What are other people in your league crushing the pins with?

Lefty in one of my leagues just shot a 300 with a brand new Baller!
I think that's Columbia 300, but not sure.

I am rolling with Track, Hammer, Radical and RotoGrip stuff on a regular.

Hammer Gauntlet Fury pearl. Hammer Statement

Track 811A. Track Logix.

Radical Counter Attack

Roto Grip Saturn

I'm in five leagues with a whole different assortment of patterns. I use skid snap stuff on one house. Mellow medium stuff for two other THS. And strong, hooking stuff on another pattern. I really have to chart things and write stuff down to remember what works where!

My arsenal works because I pay close attention to the transition. That is the one flaw that I had consistently seen across all leagues that I bowl in. My scores always dipped during the transition!

Is it working?  288/688 and 278/689 so far.

People in the leagues I bowl in, can score with anything! Pink Hammers, Physixs, Winners, Cruxes, Katana Slashes, Hustles, Pro Motions, Idols and Idol pearls....you name it, they throw it!!

Solid Choice
Black Chaos box
Black Chaos 1000 abralon. Completely different ball
Futura. What a beast
Resurgence
Triton Elite

I will take a mix of 3 to league and tote all to tourneys.

i've either thrown my after dark pearl or my squatch.  mostly the after dark pearl though but some nights it feels like the shot isn't there(I also bowl on days where the navy has us working out so i'm usually throwing the squatch on nights where my legs are tired.

Is it working? i'm averaging 221 this year after finishing the summer league at 208.  i've shot  736 and 705.  had a 299 already(12th ball was the best of the 3 balls in the 10th so cant be mad)

Currently bowling on the Jr gold long pattern, using night hawk se on the fresh, then Drift when the nhse gets too soft on the back. I wouldn't be surprised if we went to a 34 foot pattern after a 43 foot one, so I'll probably go Money Badger Tour on the fresh then ball down to a Boost with a 2inch pin to pap

Only bowling on wood lanes at the moment. So can’t get away with much more than Hyroad Pearl and IQ Tour. Ordering the All-Road and IQ Tour Emerald. Considering Idol Pro.

I'm bowling in 5 leagues this year (one is bi-weekly and another I'm supposed to be 2 on 2 off with another guy). I'm basically using two "bags". One 900 Global and one Storm/RG.

In the mixed leagues (900 Global):

Eon Infinite
White Hot Badger
After Dark Pearl

Just added a Money Badger Tour and Money Badger and used them the last two sessions. Also have a Space Time, Eon and another ADP that have been used occasionally.

For the rest (Storm/RG):

IQ Emerald x 2
Buffa IQ Pearl

Those have basically been all I've needed. 3 different layouts and surfaces. I just added 3 Hustles: Ink, HSB and 3TP. The HSB worked really well in one of my 5 man leagues. I have a whole range of other options available as well, but the IQs and Hustles seem to cover the house conditions more than well enough. Averaging 210+ in each league. One league is at a different house.

Bowling one league, subbing in another. Occasional tourney but bag stays same.

Futura-great ball.

Web Tour-Love this ball.

GB3 Black/Blue-Good breakdown ball.

Vibe Orange-Another good blend ball.

Purple Hammer-Spare and such..

venom recoil pretty much all 3 games in 3 different houses, it's a criminally underrated ball.

+1 about most versatile ball ever seen and love pop it has on the end.

Me - Morich Mojave and spare ball (ball working great and helps cover inconsistent operator error)

Phase 2, Hero, IQ Emerald, Pitch blue, for tournament conditions.  Honey Badger, After Dark Solid,  Hyroad Nano for house shots.

House shot league:
IQ Tour Emerald
Hustle AU
Plastic

After starting the season with stronger equipment and open launch angles, I have gone with the straighter is greater approach with the Emerald and Hustle with a lot of success the last 2 weeks.

Sometime house shot/sometime sport shot unsanctioned "league":
Sure Lock
Hyper Cell Fused
IQ Tour Solid
IQ Tour Emerald
Hustle AU
Plastic

This 6 ball bag covers just about every condition for me.

3 different leagues carrying the same for all 3 (2 different houses)

Hustle Ink, Idol Pearl, Phaze 2

Balls that occasionally make it into the bag

Idol, Winner Pearl, SoniQ

I'll be adding a Astro Physix for a storm challenge tourney this winter and am also really intrigued by the Gravity Evolve ball looked great when I threw it at a demo the other day.

Idol Pro, Pro Motion, Phaze 2 are the core of any bag that goes anywhere.  Idol Pearl is first in any second bag, and then it's a mix depending on where I'm going and what I'm bowling on.

I bowl tournaments every weekend usually on patterns but I don't bowl a league due to the downfall of youth leagues in my area.
I am a two handed bowler but have a slightly lower rev rate than most. My arsenal that I take to most tournaments,

900 Global Flux
Storm Phaze II
900 Global Honey Badger
Hammer Black Widow Pink
Storm Hy-Road Pearl
Columbia 300 Eruption Pro Blue
Hammer Purple Urethane
Motiv Covert Tank

Paradox Black

Matrix Solid

Lots of higher end stuff I know I prefer that to weaker stuff

One house is afraid of using much length or volume on their house pattern so a Motiv Covert Tank 97% of the time there, or traditional Urethane Combat Tank.

Other house uses a lot of volume and moderate length so anything I feel like, Motiv Forge Fire has been ridiculously good and making me look good on it, so that's been the hot ball, and the Motiv Hydra has been the go to step down ball when the pattern blows up.

Haven't gotten into many tournaments lately, but Jackal Ghost and Venom Shock are the 2nd and 3rd ball in my tournament bags after my spare ball.

I'm adjusting to moving to a new house since my old one closed down. Moving to synthetics from wood. Having taken a step back from tournaments I've been trying to use balls with less use that have been buried in my closet.

This week I used a DV8 Thug Corrupt and a 900 Global Eon, Motiv Sniper for spares

Currently, at one house Radical Conspiracy, Motiv Forza GT, 900 Global X and Storm Mix spare ball.
The other house Roto Grip Hustle Ink, 900 Global Boost Cardinal Red Pearl, 900 Global After Dark Pearl, and Storm Polar Ice spare ball.
I also use the Hammer Purple Urethane at both houses when conditions call for it.

Down to using a Slingshot with slip agent for game 2 and 3.  Oil is optional in this house.  Might bust out 16lb PG Dry/R for no tap week coming up.  Wish that ball had a core though but if leave 10 pin oh well.

About a month ago I punched up a few Radical rocks. Really liked the roll and the covers read the lane earlier than my Storm and EBI stuff which is what I needed. Punched a few more but VERY impressed with both Prisms thus far. Really tried to stay away from Brunswick poured stuff for a long time but seems to be matching up better. For now.

Hammer Black widow, black widow pink, black widow gold
Roto Grip Hot Cell, Asylum

I am debating between a Web Tour or a Triton Elite along with a Orange Vibe. I need a solid and a weak go to ball.

Triton Elite is much more of a control ball. The Web Tour is way stronger than advertised, even if it has a control shape to its roll.

I think a TNT Triumph, not sure as it has the Bonanza label on it due to 0" pin. Have like 5 boards of room, not throwing very well but avg 222. It comes back smooth off the dry, holds and carries in the middle. It's like I'm cheating.  Only ball I bring to league besides spare ball.

TNT was a dirty ball. I had 2 of them and they were great!

I've updated the top end of my arsenal recently and now it looks like this:

Gravity Evolve
Halo Pearl
Idol Pro
IQ Tour Solid
IQ Tour Emerald
Hustle AU
Roto Plastic

The IQ Tour Solid is 5 years old and will be replaced with another IQ Tour Solid sometime soon.  I'm still trying to figure out if the Idol Pro is worth keeping in the rotation.  It's too strong for my liking on THS and the only use I've had for it so far was on USBC White.

On THS, you cannot get the IQ Tour Emerald out of my hands.  I love that ball right now.

Some things we do not have an option on made in the USA but bowling balls we do have an option. It seems that a lot of people read what they want to as this particular point has been made several times.

At my home house I've pretty much been throwing only a Turmoil Hybrid or a Diva Style this season, but I just bought an After Dark Pearl and looking forward to using it tomorrow. At my practice house I've been throwing two different Continuums, a Honey Badger Claw, a United Revolt, plus the aforementioned Turmoil Hybrid.

Predominately throwing the Purple Hammer and sometimes the Black Hammer. Only been bowling in tournaments and my sport league for the past few months. Currently alternating between the two on a 38' 2014 US Open pattern (never been so happy to shoot 565 in my life).

Pretty sure I will add an After Dark Pearl here in the next couple months to hopefully add a reactive option for shorter tournament patterns.
