For me,in my hand, with out a doubt, a Twisted Fury.Waited months to get then, could not do one single thing with it.It was a spare ball for me untill I was lucky enough to pass it along. Those cover stocks did not match my game at all and I had every last one of them.

You guys are not describing bad balls. You describing balls that were drilled badly or used on the wrong condition.

for most of us ignorance is bliss. its a terd when you invest money and hope in a ball and it lets you down. there could be a number of reasons why it didnt work for you but thats for another post. bottom line is that the ball let you down. and the cell gets my vote

I think it's funny every time there is a topic like this you have a few people chime that there is never a bad ball that it's the drilling or using on the wrong pattern or something. We ALL know this but it's just fun to answer this. Mine would have to be a toss up between the Fury and Track Champ.

I didn't like the Absolute Inferno. I know a lot of people loved that ball and shot award scores with it...but it never worked for me.
That and the Strike Zone have convinced me to never roll a Brunswick ball agian....just not for me.

Tried two different layouts and a few different surfaces as well. Just never matched up with it, no matter what I did. OP was asking what ball was YOUR(being each individual) biggest let down and because of all the time and money I wasted on this ball, it was my biggest let down.

bvp golith
more recent... Twisted Fury Destruction..... it worked and i'll admit it worked well for the first 60games then dead dead dead.
By suggestion of brunswick techs i had it put thru a revivor.. nope, I gave it a bath & resurface nope.Even went back to the pro shop were i bought and had it drilled not that they were any help would just tell me it was drilled stacked leverage.
normal ball speed was 16 to 18, once it started acting up anything over 15.5 and the ball went straight.

1. El Nino GOLD--Never worked, no matter what I did to it.
2. Lev-RG-- Again, nothing I did could make this ball work for me.

My vote goes to my cell.
I love my cell pearl, but the cell just doesnt roll well for me
-
Exactly. The question was what was YOUR biggest let down. Not what is the worst ball. Mine was the twisted fury. Not because it was bad or didn't match up ect. It was because I hadn't bought a ball for 4 years and before that I just bought balls that my pro shop guy said to buy. Which was only 3 in 10 years. For the twisted fury I did research and watched videos and bought the ball I thought was the best. I had 0 clue what I was doing. Ill show you how bad it was. I narrowed it down to a twisted fury a attitude shift and a black widow pearl. 3 different balls essentially. Bought the twisted because I thought it would hook outta the house. Of course it didn't so I assumed the ball sucked. I sold it to a guy who bowls on my team. He never got it redrilled so I can throw it, and on the right condition I shoot lights out. But for the half year I rolled it I thought it was a dud.
Since then I have bought 7 balls that I bought for a purpose not because it was the end all ball. Thanks to all of yalls wisdom!

Biggest NIB disappointment was my Smash Zone. Very good length through the heads, but very sensitive to me in the mid lane. Coverstock was too aggressive for my style, and the RG too low. Could not makw it work consitently, even after surface experiments. It also rolled a bit funky, not sure whether the core was a bit out of shape. Quickly sold it.
From used balls, both an X-Factor RE-Loaded and a HPD Danger Zone were surprising turds. The X-Factor had to be re-sanded every 3 games to give it some grip, and the HPD just did react as if it had a life on its own, from shot to shot. Weird - but used balls, so I am not sure what former owners did to them?

I understand what charlest is saying, and THEORETICALLY he is correct in the assertion that there are no bad balls, just bad matchups.
That being said, I would ammend it to this: There are no bad ball LINES, but you CAN have BAD balls ( that aren't manufactured "correctly") get out into people hands.
The El-Nino GOLD and the Lev-RG have been touted as wonderful by many bowlers, but NOT FOR ME. Even though I tried multiple layouts with multiple surfaces, NOTHING worked with those two. Does that mean ALL El-Nino GOLDS and Lev-RG's were bad? No, but I believe the ones I had were. Now, what was wrong with them? Nobody knows, but it had to be SOME reason they were absolutely DEAD from day one.
Maybe those of us who get "bad" balls are just randomly ending up with one offs that have some hidden problem that is never diagnosed by us or our drillers.

Black Widow Bite - hated this ball with a passion, loved the solid and pearl but couldnt get the bite to work, biggest over/under ball ive ever thrown
Storm Special Agent - never got this to roll right, redrilled after 30 practice games, still didnt work then cracked from the fingers out, gave it away

I don''t really consider any ball a POS, cause all balls match up for someone. The thing people don''t realize is that no matter how much of a POS they consider a ball that there will always be that one condition that the said ball is great on. Once I started to realize that I found that I match up with every ball, just not on every condition.
That being said some balls do work a lot more often than others and I get that as well.

Track Rule Delta 1 is the really the only ball I've hated. Multiple conditions, multiple surfaces, incredibly inconsistent reaction. Ironically, it's the ball I've shot my highest series with.
My Brunswick Total Inferno was pretty inconsistent for me too, I never really saw eye to eye with it.
I gave both to my Dad as he can throw my stuff without plugging and they both roll good for him, so it wasn't a total loss.

Way back in the dark ages, in 1977, I bought a yellow dot for use in the national tournament, and I had made it clear to the pro shop operator that I was buying the ball for that purpose. Nonetheless, when I got to Reno and the ball was checked by ABC officials, it was too soft (by 4 or 5 durometer points) for use in the tournament. Therefore, I took the ball about 3,000 miles to bowl in the tournament and had to bring it back but wasn't even able to use it in sanctioned competition. I have to blame the pro shop operator as much as the ball manufacturer, though.
