Title: What is working good in your arsenal?
Post by: Metal_rules on November 30, 2016, 08:40:03 AM
I am just curious to see what balls are working the best for everyone. For me, currently what is working is my  --LOCK--. Most of the time this ball gives me the most consistent ball reaction. If I do need to change balls, the other main 3 that I use that are working very well (depending on the lane condition of course) are the   -- Snap Lock  -- Wreck-it  -- and Defiant Soul. For the lane conditions I am seeing at this time, I can definitely say that with this arsenal, it's getting the job done!

My Forza GT is lights out for me right now.  This week I literally did not take another ball out of the bag (that includes spare ball).  It has become my favoritist ball of all time.  See? It even has me inventing words to describe it.

Scandal, Scandal pearl and Xtreme Heat.  Heat will tell me where to go.  Ball up to Scandal or ball down to Scandal Pearl. Great 3 ball combo for me.  Very happy so far.

In one house, the Arson Low Flare Pearl is good, 80% of the time.
In another, the DV8 Outcast is good about 75% of the time, ... so far.

The revolt havoc is great for any heavy to medium conditions. Snap lock also works  well.

I was having a lot of success with my Ridiculous Pearl. Weather has changed and gone cold, heater in the center hasn't caught up yet so the shot is playing slicker and I'm now using my Revolt Havoc with good success

My Motiv Forza GT is the first ball out of my bag. I've shot some really great league scores with it the season.

I started throwing Visionary this season and my average is up 10+ pins in all of my leagues. What's working best is the original Raven, Warlock XV Hybrid and Warlock XV Pearl. In fact, I just ordered a second Raven and will throw a different layout on it.

As someone who has been struggling for the past 3 weeks, this is a good thread to have. Lots of middle of the road balls it seems.

I don't mean to hi-jack this topic, but I want to ask if anyone knows what the difference is between the cover on the original Forest Green Quantum and the new Forrest Green Quantum?

I had the original and had two 300's with is. (one sanctioned and one non- sanctioned)  Back then when some of the balls had PK 18 covers I believe it was and they were a bit stronger than my Forest Green Quantum. I asked Brunswick about it back then and they said the Forest Green Quantum cover was more like a PK 17.5 cover. Does anyone have any knowledge about the covers back then and today?

With health problems, I have been forced to reduce ball weights to 12#. Were it not for that, I would be the owner of both today's Forest Green and Fire Quantum, but unfortunately for me, the balls don't come in 12#.

Sorry disagree don't see many middle of the road balls so far in this thread seem majority are medium-heavy balls (ie. Havoc Revolt's, Forza GT's, Quantum's)  Other than Impending Doom's Nighthawk SE and Boost Pearl and charlest's  lower end Low Flare and Outcast.  Either all are bowling on higher volume medium patterns with slicker lane conditioners or high speed with revs inside out or high speed and no revs in the track area.  41' and 19ml I believe would be considered a light-medium pattern for the majority of house conditions depending on lane topography.  Majority of that 19ml is in the middle.  I would think you need to get to that 25ml and up area at 41' to be considered for most of us to be really medium to medium heavy where these medium-heavy balls would shine.  Majority of no handers hate 25ml and up and always put up a ruckus in hdcp rec. leagues.  Reference here.  http://www.ballreviews.com/miscellaneous/i-thought-it-would-be-benificial-but-its-a-bit-more-challenging-now-t312591.0.html;msg2565969;topicseen#new

Vintage DangerZone on the fresh, playing relatively straight and then balling up to the Paradox Pearl or the Grudge and moving inside to swing it a little.

Middle of the road here: Venom Panic. I bowl league in 2 different houses and am seeing less oil in both so far this season.

My Sigma Sting and Covert Revolt have been a great pair so far this season.  But, when there is actually enough oil to use the No Rules, it's been very effective.

Depends on which house.  On the synthetic house, the Storm Snap Lock is my go to, but at my old wood house, it's the Storm Ride.

Fire Pearl Quantum has been money for me. 2 honor scores (300 in league and 802 in State Senior Tournament) and a couple of near misses (799 and 299 on separate nights) since starting with that ball. I haven't had this much confidence in a ball in a LONG time.

Daredevil, this ball is so stupid.

He's been right on every ball recommendation for me personally for years here. I'm going to punch up one of these to clear out space from all of the 4-5 year old equipment I'm throwing.

Old school here. I never retire a ball unless it cracks like a walnut. Our house shot is 39' to 40' med to light oil. I use a Roto-Grip Top Fuel at 4000 lightly polished. When lane starts to blow out, I change to a G-R Sonic Boom at 2000 polished. No one is bitching at me, so I guess both balls are working well.

Ebonite Gamebreaker 2 -
Roto Grip No Rules
Track 503T
Ebonite Mission unkown (red)
Roto Grip Hyper Cell-Skid
Roto Grip Hectic
Hammer spare ball

spare ball has started to crack so ive ordered a white dot off of bowlingball.com and it will replace teh hammer.

Hectic was meant to be the weakest ball in the bag. But based on the drill pattern that we used it hooks more downlane than any ball i have. But it is also the only ball without the Turbo switchgrips and the feel of it is off just a little so it doesnt get used a ton. I will likely replace it with another hectic soon but put the switchgrip in it.

I dont get to use the GB2 often as it is just too much ball for a house shot much of the time.

No Rules i can use if their a little juicier than normal or when we are bowling against people that are more beginner types and throwing urethane and plastic everywhere.

my go to's are the Mission unkown and Hyper Cell-Skid

Skid is a little stronger on the back than the Unknown. It makes for a fairly easy transition if i'm looking at it correct and not fighting it.

my ebonite zoom plastic get an extra few feet of loft

You release the ball chest high now.  To get more loft, do you release it like an NBA player shooting free throws?
