What shoes are you wearing?
« on: June 22, 2019, 04:16:12 PM »
Im usually in the market for some new shoes every 5-7 years. That time has arrived. What are some of the better options on the market? I have some SST8s now are they are quite raggedy.

The Hammer Force shoes from KR are the most comfortable shoes Ive ever had.
And I had early pair of Dynaroos kangaroo leather, they were comfortable, but didn't last
Fit like a glove, flawless from the minute I put them on.
And I'm very hard on shoes.
And I bowl alot, so they get plenty of use.

I like the wider toe box of Dexter's the best and love my SST 8 Pro's.

I'm not a huge fan of The 9s, so I'd get another pair of the SST 8 Pro or a pair of the new SST 6 Hybrid BOA if I was in the market

love the 9's, toehold feature extending life of shoes for me, as I drag my back foot which was killing the life of other shoes I've had. also comfort is good at least for me.

Tough call for sure, I’ve had my 8’s around the same time you are ready to replace yours, with no issues ( still look new as the day I bought them).

Obviously, I’ve heard great things about the sst8 pro’s that svsstar has mentioned above, and mixed reviews on the 9’s.  Imo, go 8 pro’s.

I'm excited for a new pair of tour Ultras to replace a pair of SST6 LZ headed my way soon.

I usually wear Dexters! All of the Dexters I have ever owned were comfortable from the word GO!

So to change up a bit, I tried a pair of black and gold Hammer brand shoes. I was actually shocked!! I didn't have to break them in for three weeks like I had to do with a pair of Dynaroos I used to own. These things were almost as comfortable as Dexters!

Anyway, they will do for now until I have to decide again in a couple years!

The SST8 fit me well, but had toe issues where the pad kept separating.
I’m not a toe dragger.
Took the pad off and cut off a sliver of the front part and put it back on.
Mostly was annoying.
Also need to mention that I’m super limited needing LH wide shoes.

Hammer Force are very comfortable, I don't know how much or if you slide. But the Force's are easy to slide right out of the box pretty much..

I have the Storm SP3’s. Couldn’t be happier. I returned the Hammer Bosses. They were way too cushiony for me.

SST6 BOAs

Really like them after my SST9s "T.H.E. 9s" kept breaking the base sole in half and almost got me to give up on Dexter shoes.

First of all, Dexter has never made SST9s. They do make T.H.E. 9s.

I wear Dexter T.H.E. 9s and they are so comfortable that once I put them on I never think about them until I take them off. The toe feature is the best bowling shoe invention in a long time.
Balls: Motiv Trident Abyss, Motiv Golden Jackal, Motiv Hydra and Motiv Hyper Sniper. All made in the USA.

I have Brunswick and Hammer shoes made by KR that are my favorite.  I also have a pair of Dexter 9s that are nice,  but still not as comfortable as the KR.

Easy way to compare is Dexters feel like a dress shoe.  Not a lot of material inside.

The KR shoes feel like a athletic shoe with more cushion on the inside that fits against your foot a little more snug.

I wear the same size in Dexter and the KR shoes as I do my normal shoes.

+1 on KR being comfortable and more like running shoes.  Love mine even though went more entry level (flyer) at the time.
