The Hammer Force shoes from KR are the most comfortable shoes Ive ever had.
And I had early pair of Dynaroos kangaroo leather, they were comfortable, but didn't last
Fit like a glove, flawless from the minute I put them on.
And I'm very hard on shoes.
And I bowl alot, so they get plenty of use.

I like the wider toe box of Dexter's the best and love my SST 8 Pro's.

I'm not a huge fan of The 9s, so I'd get another pair of the SST 8 Pro or a pair of the new SST 6 Hybrid BOA if I was in the market

love the 9's, toehold feature extending life of shoes for me, as I drag my back foot which was killing the life of other shoes I've had. also comfort is good at least for me.

Tough call for sure, I’ve had my 8’s around the same time you are ready to replace yours, with no issues ( still look new as the day I bought them).

Obviously, I’ve heard great things about the sst8 pro’s that svsstar has mentioned above, and mixed reviews on the 9’s.  Imo, go 8 pro’s.

I'm excited for a new pair of tour Ultras to replace a pair of SST6 LZ headed my way soon.

I usually wear Dexters! All of the Dexters I have ever owned were comfortable from the word GO!

So to change up a bit, I tried a pair of black and gold Hammer brand shoes. I was actually shocked!! I didn't have to break them in for three weeks like I had to do with a pair of Dynaroos I used to own. These things were almost as comfortable as Dexters!

Anyway, they will do for now until I have to decide again in a couple years!

3G Tour Ultra is my current shoe of choice

The SST8 fit me well, but had toe issues where the pad kept separating.
I’m not a toe dragger.
Took the pad off and cut off a sliver of the front part and put it back on.
Mostly was annoying.
Also need to mention that I’m super limited needing LH wide shoes.

Hammer Force are very comfortable, I don't know how much or if you slide. But the Force's are easy to slide right out of the box pretty much..

I have the Storm SP3’s. Couldn’t be happier. I returned the Hammer Bosses. They were way too cushiony for me.

SST6 BOAs

Really like them after my SST9s "T.H.E. 9s" kept breaking the base sole in half and almost got me to give up on Dexter shoes.

First of all, Dexter has never made SST9s. They do make T.H.E. 9s.

I wear Dexter T.H.E. 9s and they are so comfortable that once I put them on I never think about them until I take them off. The toe feature is the best bowling shoe invention in a long time.

I have Brunswick and Hammer shoes made by KR that are my favorite.  I also have a pair of Dexter 9s that are nice,  but still not as comfortable as the KR.

Easy way to compare is Dexters feel like a dress shoe.  Not a lot of material inside.

The KR shoes feel like a athletic shoe with more cushion on the inside that fits against your foot a little more snug.

I wear the same size in Dexter and the KR shoes as I do my normal shoes.

+1 on KR being comfortable and more like running shoes.  Love mine even though went more entry level (flyer) at the time.

I wear the Team Brunswick shoe.  The prior version (KR) was very comfortable, but less durable by a long shot.  The current version, at first, didn't impress me too much until I got them broken in, and now I love them.

I like the wider toe box of Dexter's the best and love my SST 8 Pro's.

I'm not a huge fan of The 9s, so I'd get another pair of the SST 8 Pro or a pair of the new SST 6 Hybrid BOA if I was in the market

Bought the SST 6 BOA yesterday. Great looking shoe, but I'm dubious as to how well the BOA system holds up. I have a pair of Reeboks with a similar lace replacement system that has worked well, but those wires/laces seem awfully thin

I've had mine almost a year, got them right when they came out and outside of the silver portion of the shoe tearing (it's like a vinyl layer over the actual shoe material) mine are showing no wear. Toe cap is holding up great, inside of the shoes look good, and absolutely zero trouble with the BOA system.

Family member had a pair of Dexter The 9's.  After less than 2 years, the bottom on both shoes had cracked all the way through in the grooves where the removable soles set in to.  Contacted Dexter, and they literally responded with "our high performance shoes are not designed to be durable."  They offered to sell a replacement pair to us "at cost".

Needless to say, those were replaced with a pair of Brunswick Team Brunswick shoes and so far so good.

I use the Dexter SST6 LZ and they have been fine.  I personally would buy Dexter shoes again, but would avoid any variation of The 9's.  The 3G Tour Ultra shoes are also supposed to be amazing.

Another family member uses the Hammer Boss shoes and is happy, aside from the universal push away sole on the non-slide foot needing to be replaced after 3-4 months because the velcro got fatigued and stopped attaching to the shoe.

Went from 6's to 9's. 9 feels more broken in as soon as you put them on. They are also way more narrow at the toe, Id say the 6 feels better there. The 9 has a stiffer sole on both feet, and Ive worn out my left toe on every shoe ever, so being able to replace the plant toe is cool. Having a good supply of slide soles without waiting is a plus.

Im usually in the market for some new shoes every 5-7 years. That time has arrived. What are some of the better options on the market? I have some SST8s now are they are quite raggedy.

It depends on what's important to you. Some shoes excel in comfort. Others provide greater stability. Still others provide replaceable toe protection. A few are good all around but don't stand out in any one area.

I too ventured out after a 5 year run with SST8's. I found that sometimes the best option is what you already have, but there are a lot of choices based on the features most valuable to you.

Steven, you could not have explained it any better ^^^^ 1000%.  I personally have experienced this with various shoes myself through the years, well said.

I have been using SST 5 Sports for many years now, I am running on my 2nd pair and was lucky to find another NIB RH pair in the right size (even though in white  :-[) in a pro shop sale. Chose these shoes because they were the only ones at their market time that had interchangeable soles AND had sneaker-style soles without the usual, stitched rim which make normal bowling shoes very wide. I have quite large feet (US 12) and tend to keep my feet close together on the approach, and the SST 5 Sports just looked like a good choice. They are quite comfortable, but the rubber sole is crappy and tends to literally disintegrate after a while, so that my shoes now look patched up (due to the use of repair paste and some glue  ::). However, I stick to them. Never change a running system, at least without dire need!
