what should i get next?
« on: November 04, 2003, 08:01:55 AM »
i'm thinking about getting a new ball real soon. i'm looking for a pearl or something similar. looking for something that will move really hard on the backend. i'm a righty tweener, speed about 15-17. right now i'm carrying a phenom, freak (its about dead from the games i've put on it), pearl stomp (was carrying a voodoo but i didnt like it so i dusted off my pearl stomp for drier lanes) and a scooby doo viz a ball, lol.  so what i'm basically wanting is something that will give me length and move strong on the backends. a few i was thinking about was either the Mo-Rich Hercules (always wanted to throw a mo-rich ball, the colossus line seemed to hit like a tank) , Morich On-Slaught or Storm X-Factor Reloaded..

any of those any good?...or if you got any more suggestions please lmk...thanks

I think I'm starting to repeat myself around here. lol. But, as far as length and a strong move in the back end, it's hard to beat the inferno. It has great length, a good turn at the end and it does "hit like a tank". If you don't like brunswick from the past, you should give them another shot because the new stuff they are coming out with is excellent and not astronomically priced.

Depending on the amount of oil, I would go with the new Golden Nugget Saw.  I have been told that the only ball it is not stronger than, is the Super Carbide Bomb.  Thi ball gets great length, but makes up for it with it's tremendous backend.  If you are looking for a medium/light ball, then I would use the Cherry Bomb.

There are many people using the Inferno's with great success here as well....another one would be the Roto Grip Silver Streak Pearl....seems to be longer and stronger in the backend than the Inferno. I have also been impressed by the new Sling Blade for length and backend.

I am not "aligned" with any one particular ball manufacturer, like many on here, and believe that you should find either someone with a similar game (speed, revs, rotation, etc) and see what is working for them on similar conditions. Also working with a "competent" driller and instructor helps. Fortunately in this area we have quite a few excellent bowlers that are willing to work not only with each other to improve, but with newer and/or younger bowlers so that they too may improve.
