Just curious. Mine was an AMF Ultra Angle. I think I was 14 or 15 at the time.

What was yours?

I went to buy a silver white dot in 1982 but my grandfather ended up paying for it so I guess that doesn't count. Still my ball of choice at the private club I bowl at.

In 86 I took my girlfried (now wife) to the proshop to buy her a 12lb white dot. I just got my 1st Credit Card. Next thing you know I was having a black U-dot drilled up. I went from $40 to $150 just like that. I brought that bad boy to league first night and it was hooking the entire lane. Next week there was a couple more on the returns.

~1988 or so I bought a new Red Hammer. It was $90 drillled with inserts. The lanes closed in 1991.

I never bought a new ball again until 2003. The owner of our new house, opened in 2000, gave me a new ball. Since then I mostly buy used.
