What was the FIRST reactive resin ball you ever bought???
« on: April 30, 2010, 01:10:49 AM »
Not sure if this question was asked before, but I will post anyway.

Thinking about where we have come in such a short time, I was wondering about this today.

For me, (and maybe others), the first one was the X-Calibur...I remember that it was too big for my hand and I rolled it anyway...the raw power was nothing ever seen before on the lanes, during that time.

Could've been, I thought it had White writing on it though...because I remember having white tips in it to match the writing.  Oh well...not that important it was a LONG time ago...LOL

Hammer (Faball)3-D Super Flip...while it helped my game as at the time in 1996 when I started leagues all I had was a AMF Bobcat urethane. I also was learning how to hook the ball and once I did I couldn't believe how much it hooked.
However, the quality of the ball was pure garbage. I think I may have had that ball two years. Never bought a Faball product again Chunks and knicks was taking a toll on it and then was wondering about the quality of resin balls which everyone told me I needed.

After my Dad got a Brunswick Danger Zone that was my second one and that ball which don't have anymore but was easily one of the best reactives ever made.

Teal Pearl Storm, a little straighter than the X-Calibur, which was fine with me.

I think it was a Brunswick Rhion Pro Teal. Or it might have been a Nitro R2. Too many beers, can''t remember.

Yeah it was the Teal Rhino Pro Teal for me too.

I didn't care for it to much, but I loved the T2.

Mine was a Ebonite Turbo X. Loved that ball once I got used to not throwing urethane.

The first reactive ball i bought was a Columbia 300 Cuda/C Pearl. I did not like this balls reaction as it was way too over/under. My next purchase was a Brunswick Sapphire Blue Zone. This ball had a great roll.
