Want to get a new ball but which one?
« on: February 03, 2010, 12:47:08 PM »
I just received my copy of the US Bowler and am looking to purchase a new ball. I saw the advertisements but also saw Bowling.com and Bowlingball.com advertise the new Brunswick balls and also had them on sale. How come there was no other manufacture's balls on sale? How good is the Blood Seige and the C-System 3.5 I keep hearing things about Storm and Ebonite International. Which is better?????

You will have to find out for yourself.

But honestly, if you are new to bowling, I would not go for a high end ball, or even a ball with an asymmetrical core (even if it might be on sale). These pieces are very special, need a stable game, a player who knows what he/she wants out of the ball and a ball driller who knows how to set up such a piece properly.

I'd rather suggest a more simple (and inexpensive) mid range piece with a symmetrical core. Much more forgiving and versatile, and much more useful for a beginner (e. g.  a Fast or Furious from Storm, a Rattler from Brunswick, any manufacturer has something similar).

"High end" equipment does not necessarily make you a better bowler
