Title: Where can I buy only the patches for liquid skin?
Post by: earlyrolling on September 06, 2018, 12:02:54 AM
Why doesn't someone sell just the patches or just the liquid for the skin patch stuff?
Makes no sense that you always have to buy them together in a package where one item runs out before the other.  I have plenty of liquid left over since I buy the larger 3/4 oz bottle (http://a.co/d/427gekg) but I run out of patches.  I want to buy patches only sometimes.
Seems like someone in the bowling industry should have picked up on this need already.  Where can I buy only the patches for liquid skin?

I couldn't imagine a company trying to market a product like the patches by themselves.  Liquid skin is barely used now so packaging just the patches doesn't seem like a money maker in my mind.

You could go to the local fabric shop and find some extra thin fabric and just cut to size each night.  Keep some in your bag.

earlyrolling,
PM (email) me with your name and address and I'll send you enough patches to last you a very long time.  Always willing to help a fellow bowler.

May sound unreal, but we used to use tissue paper or napkins.

Once the liquid permeates the paper, then dries, it becomes strong enough to last.

 Works.

I've used tissue paper but cotton is the best.  Lay down a layer of New Skin, put a small piece of cotton over that layer then paste the cotton down with more New Skin.  Let it dry completely (15 - 20 minutes is best) and trim off any loose fibers.  It'll stay there until you bathe.  --  JohnP

:) For what it's worth, I use Curad Small Gauze Pads, 2"x2" (around $3 for a box of 25) that can be found at any Pharmacy. I cut them (unfold them x 2 separate pieces) to the size needed with scissors and keep them in a small plastic pouch in my BB Bag along with liquid skin. Good bowling to you. Jim  8)
