"Bowling this month" questions
« on: April 24, 2016, 05:38:57 AM »
Was going to go ahead and purchase a year but was just curious if anyone else was a member and how they like the site...are they pretty good at updating new balls and content?

I am a subscriber.  It still follows a monthly format.  I believe you can get a trial if you still aren't sure.

I am also a subscriber.  Great ball reviews and coaching/teaching articles.  Well worth the subscription fee.

Do realize that their ball reviews IF a tweener are laid out 3 3/8" stacked which I believe skews the numbers.  Not many I know use such a strong layout on most equipment.  I have come away a number of times with something other than how BTM rated the ball.  I also use 14's and they test 15's.

All in all I think BTM is a good resource but for ball reviews I have changed my ideas about what they say and what I think will work for me.  I tend to use local staffers and what I see locally more than BTM.

I am a subscriber, and I rely on their reviews for a couple different things.

to compare a new ball vs ball that I have or have seen in action.  This helps me to narrow down the possible choices to a few and then pick the brain of my PSO.

Second thing, if I am replacing a specific ball, I can use their reviews to quickly find balls that could/should be similar.   Their articles are good as well.

I am a subscriber. I too, enjoy the articles and the ball reviews. They do rehash a lot of the content----a lot of which has appeared in past editions. However, it is second to none in terms of its technical content. If you are a serious student of the game, this magazine is a must.
