I'm in the market for a 4 ball bag again. I sold my storm thunder 4-5 years ago for $110, which I got for less than $160-$170 new. I used it for only half a season and I regret selling it. But, I got tired of seeing the color red and a buddy needed a bag who couldn't afford a new one.
also, I no longer want to rent a locker. The price increases every year and the condition of the lockers get worse. I can open my locker without a key.
Which 4 ball roller do you use? And anyone with a KR lane rover have issues with the zippers?
-
I use a Storm Rolling Thunder. It's actually a 6 ball roller, but 90% of the time I just use the top and bottom sections. I prefer it over the KR/Brunswick ones because it's so much more compact. Storm makes the Streamline four ball roller too, but they don't seem as durable.

Buy the KR roysl flush not the rover. Great bag!

compact is the key word.

compact is the key word.
If compact is the key concern, look at the Storm Streamline series. It's the most compact of any of the 4 ball rollers I have seen. And you can take it apart to lift only two balls at a time or more easily fit into your trunk with other stuff.

I had a three ball rolling Thunder and it ripped apart in less then a season. I've statedcaway since

I've have a Storm Streamline 4 bag for over 5 years, bought it because of being small, have a Honda Accord sedan and with the handle down sits up rite in the trunk no problem, once a year take handle out and spray with 3-1m Garage Door Lube to keep them ball bearing free to do their job.
I really like the bag, my friends have KR bags good too, but are larger and the handle doesn't come down low enough to fit in Honda

I've been using a Storm Rolling Thunder for about 10 years now and I still love the bag. Once it's time to replace it, I would only consider a 2+2 bag, and I would only buy the Storm or Roto-Grip bag because I like that they have three wheels. I think that makes it both more maneuverable and sturdier.

I still wish that KR made the 3-4-5 still. I've had mine for 8 years, and it's starting to show it's age. Been looking at the KR 4 balls, but I think I am going to wait for the new branded 900 Global bags to come out, when they do. Until then, I use my 3-4-5 if traveling to a tournament, and if local, I use multiple 3 ball totes.

Storm Rolling Thunder, for the past 4 years or so.
The only problem has been with some of the zippers. One holder broke off and several of them are hard to pull because the zippered areas were crushed at packing time and I'm not sure how long it sat that way. Otherwise it has worked very well.

I may go with the rolling thunder because of the pockets. Plus, I already have a rolling thunder two ball roller w/ same color to match............I just said matching bags???? oh boy....
My first 4 ball rolling thunder had zipper issues as well. I just had to pay attention when I zipped the top cover so it won't get caught and stuck in the corners.

Ok, time to bend down and check between your legs!!! :-X

I rubbed some paraffin wax along the teeth; That helped somewhat, temporarily. It's an old fashioned lubricant, as you don't want to use oil or Teflon in that area.
FYI I just bought a KR 2 ball roller with a 3rd ball Joey. This 2 ball roller has more pocket space than my 4 ball Storm Rolling Thunder. It was on Christmas sale. But if I were int he market for a new 4 ball roller, I'd have to give extra serious consideration to KR bag products.

charlest, you're making it tough to decide hahaha...I was looking at the lane rover too....most of my totes and rollers are from storm besides the Elite Platinum 3 roller that I have too... I'll research more on the KR's.... I need pockets and a compact bag....
(some of my bags are going to be on my ebay account if there's no local buyers. I've sold 2 balls, maybe a 3rd tonight, a tote, new shoe cover, pack of black tape, and my 1/10 sc10 rc truck, all this week. I'll use that money for the new roller and maybe a NIB or two lol)

Charlest, I'm taking the KR land rover.......THe Storm thunder at $219 is up there...I had a thunder for less than $160, and the newer one is just too much IMO.....

I originally ordered a Hammer 4 ball roller from my pro shop, but after 2 weeks I was told that it was on a lengthy back order. I ended up getting the Storm Rolling Thunder bag. I got a lot of years out of my old one so I figured it was a safe bet. The top section for the shoes is quite a bit smaller, or at least harder to access since the zipper is no longer on the outside edge. I'm one of those guys who carries everything (you know - the guy everyone always borrows stuff from :)) and I was surprised at how few of the new bags offer similar storage to the old bags.

if i can fit my 8" fan, im good!!! i'll test this tomorrow night with my teammates bag...
strider, thanks for that post..
