What Ball?
« on: March 17, 2008, 10:14:35 AM »
I discovered yesterday at a tournament that I had a gap in my equipment. I am looking for a ball to fit in between my Brunswick Smoking Inferno and my Roto Grip Mercury. I needed it around game 7 when the oil has been broken down but I still need a strong back end. I want it to go very long as well. I have been considering the Roto Grip Neptune or maybe I could go with a weak drilling of the Venus and that will give me a more forgiving ball on the broken down oil. Which one should I go with? Or do you have any other balls you have in mind. I do not like the Vibe, just so you know.

Your gap you are talking about is filled in my arsenal with an Avalanche Pearl.  I have had it for 2 weeks and my average with it is 217.  It is a great ball.  That or the solid would work well for you...thats my opinion.

900 Global Creature Pearl (reasonably weak -- 4.5-6 inches pin-pap depending on your game -- drilling) is a perfect fit.

Just so everyone knows, with the kind of hand I put on the ball a strong drilling for me is within 1.5 inches above the fingers.

I would second what Rev said.  Creature Pearl is a great ball can be used on the conidition you described.  I use mine for dry backends when everything else is just to strong.  Would fit right in your gap.

That ball is just too strong. I'm talking neptune strength.
