Does it Matter?

If you use sandpaper or a scotch brite pad? Wouldn't they both produce the same results?

So if you had a choice between sandpaper and a SB what do you think is best to use?

I use scotch brite.
I'm less likely to cause lasting damage that way.

I like sandpaper on reactives.  And feel I have to use scotch brite or abralon on particles or risk damage.

I have used 1500 and 2000 grit on particles in the past without adverse effects.

I feel scotch brite is the best to use.  I currently don't dull down any of my equipment.  I leave it in the OOB condition.  I do have balls that are polished; which I maintain.  With todays super strong equipment I have no need to dull down a ball.  That doesn't mean I will never do it but haven't needed to.
