Ball advice
« on: December 31, 2003, 12:12:26 AM »
At the moment, i have 4 main balls (3 of which i use regulally)

Ebonite vortex (not used often any more)
Storm Shock Trauma
Storm Euro Storm 2
Brunswick Target Zone

Obviously my target zone is my 6/10 pin ball

The conditions i tend to play on are light oil / dry on wooden lanes.
On these conditions the trauma is a bit heavy, unless there is a decent amount of oil on the heads. The Euro storm works well on there.

Im looking at adding a couple of new balls to my arsenal, ideally i am looking to build up a couple of balls i could use at another centre i play at a fair bit. This centre has medium oilled lanes, but are synthetic so can get bad carry down. On these conditions i have bowled ok(ish) with both my trauma and vortex (around a 170 average, my league average is 195), I have recently found that if i take the shine of my euro, using track magic wet and dull, the euro works well, comes in nicely. Using the euro cleaned up like this, i have been able to bowl around a 185 average, however the ball isnt coming in quite as hard as it does on the wooden lanes, and im leaving a lot of tenpins.

Ideally i would like to get a new ball that wont be a lot of use at my regular centre, but would be strong on the more oilled synthetic lanes at the second centre i play at, I am thinking about maybe a deuce x, but am not sure, my ball speed is around 15.5 mph and i have low/med revs, any advice?
