Which would you rather win?

Which would you rather win?

A Dennys PBA Tour Event or Singles at the USBC National Tourney?

I know some will say "PBA because of $XXXXX". But Im just curious what people would say to this. Then after you answer the question, answer it if money werent a factor. Just curious.

I'd rather win the USBC Masters, or US Open, than a regular tour stop.

It depends on what tour stop if it was a major that would be what I would want to win. However if it was a regular tour stop I would say the USBC singles title. Both would be sweet, both you would be beating a lot of excellent bowlers.

The Masters, and not the USBC Masters. Actually, in answering the question, I would prefer the USBC Singles title over a PBA Tour Event.

I agree I would rather have an Eagle.  But a PBA title would not be bad either.  I truely believe I have a better shot at an Eagle than a PBA title and my  chances for an Eagle are less than 1%.

A PBA title is won against a smaller group of very good bowlers over a long(er) format.

A USBC singles title is won by shooting a high 3 game set. A perfect storm has to come together. A good bowler, bowling well, on a good pair, with phenomenal carry wins the event.

The USBC singles title has more of a luck factor involved and because of qualification processes only top bowlers can compete for a PBA title.

But if I could only have one I would take the eagle.

I would prefer to win an Eagle from the USBC...but if I could choose I would choose an All-Events USBC win (consistency and adaptability) or a Doubles USBC win (I bowl with my son).  But, any event Eagle would be a greater accomplishment for me.  Scott

every sport has an higher level of competition where most people can only dream of competing let alone winning. in the world of bowling this is the pba tour. winning a national title on the pba tour would be the ultimate goal for a bowler.

I'm never going to make a living bowling, so I would go for the prestige and try for the USBC championship.

I think I am a rare bird.  I don't even get in high pots or side brackets, that isn't what I go for.  I go because I love bowling and want to be the best there is.  I won't make it, but I WILL try.

Money distracts me from the play too much and interferes with the enjoyment I get from just pure accomplishment.

Like I said, I am not in it for the money, just the fun of the game and the pleasure of the achievment.

No Brainer, EAGLE !!!  every time. Just because of the sheer number of entrants you have to compete against.

Probably a PBA title holds more prestige with the average person who watches bowling on TV.  They recognise that the owner of a PBA title is a professional and had to be one of the best that week and the best that day to win their title.

They dont know anything about the USBC Eagles - about how basically, you only have one chance per year to win and you have to have your scores hold up against some 60,000 other bowlers.  Yes, luck probably plays a big part in winning one, but some luck has to exist on the PBA finals also.  I would take an Eagle, personally, and I dont even know what money is associated with it - that's not as important to me.
