Coaching session- part two
« on: January 29, 2005, 09:08:37 PM »
Well I had my second hour long session on Saturday afternoon with my coach. We spent a few minutes reviewing what I learned the first session and then moved on to finger dancing techniques. He suggested that my pushaway only be about 6 inches to a foot away from my body before I begin my free swing, and that everything in the release should be moved from the wrist and fingers. He gave me a couple of tips for opening up the lane as well as playing down and in with the finger dancing (when you play powerful down and in, you need to wait on the finger dance and extra board before letting the fingers turn....).

The finger dance from the deeper line is going to take me longer to burn into muscle memory, but I was getting the feel for it after a game or so. He also looked at my arsenal and recommended getting an Xception as I need something with more of a stronger snap on the backend when I want to play a more angular line.

We'll see how things go as I have a tournament today (9 games) and leagues on Monday and Tuesday- soon enough time to burn what I learned into practice...
