Smoothest Rolling Ball for Dry Back Ends

I know I can drill a ball to roll smoother than advertised but I want to know others choices for a smooth rolling medium oil ball for dry back ends. I am encountering very hard moving back ends lately. Although I can move deep inside and swing a couple of balls or flatten out the roll off my hand I still think I'm throwing the wrong equipment on this condition. I through mostly Track equipment with one Storm ball at the moment but I will try just about anything. Your help is appreciated.

For the medium patterns with the big backends, i use:

I am a 18.0mph bowler, with a 270average rev rate. PAP: 5"over, 1/2" up.

15# Ebonite V2 Pearl; 3-4" pin. Pin @ 12:00 over the bridge, CG stacked below it @ center of grip.

Even rolling ball with little pop in the backend. Allows the pearlized coverstock to clear the heads and continue an even roll into the pocket. It's not very jerky.

the smoothest ball I have rolled to date is the turbo diesel. it's an arcing ball but the drill pattern keep the flair low.

it's a 1 or 1-1/2" pin. pin is under bridge and the cg is towards the track.
105 deg layout 5.5" pin to pap.

kind of looks like a lefty drill.

the ball gets into a roll early and has a small continuos arc. when my pearl reactive(Sling Blade) becomes to skid snap on med. I use this ball.

I'm sure you could take any solid reactive with a mid lane/ backend and drill it 5.5" pin to pap and 105 deg.

you might want to get a second ball of one that is working for you and drill it like this to tame the backend down. just try and get a light top wt. so you won't need hole.

It is going to be difficult to get a ball to roll smoothly on very clean, dry backends.  I think your best bet is to go with something urethane.  Anything resin is going to be snappy when the backends are dry.  If you are looking for smooth, go to something urethane.  It will not be too straight like a plastic, but not be snappy like a resin.  I would recommend a Blue Urethane Groove.

What about a dull reactive. I know they are powerful but I'm looking at a decent about of oil for 38ft and clean backends. One guy did really well with an X-Factor Deuce. It seemed to blend the wet and dry together before rolling into the pocket.

Depending on how I want to play either my old blue nitro, or my pearl urethane claw...Both are smooth as silk on dry backends.

Okay.  But, most guys will not find a Blue Nitro or Black Messenger. Another alternative to the Urethane Groove, is maybe a Urethane Scout.  Urethane is definitely the right way to go.

Ebonite V2 Pearl, 3" PIN, and PIN under ring finger and CG kicked out 1 1/2" to 2". Gives good midlane roll and this in turn keeps ball from snapping when it hits the dry, yet the back end is very angular and smooth with no over/under.

At most, you could probably get away with a Savage or V2 solid drilling the pin 2 inches from your axis point.  But, STAY AWAY FROM PEARLS!!!  They store energy for backend movement.  That is what pearls are designed for.  The only pearl I would go with, is a Urethane Scout or Urethane Groove.  You need to get a ball with a medium-high to high rg with a low diff.  Also......look into the V2 Dry.  I heard this is the ball for dry lanes.  Who disagrees??

Tour Power...this ball smooths out the transition VERY WELL!!  Just hunt around Ebay for one.
