Does your house have
« on: April 28, 2005, 05:29:26 AM »
a pair of lanes where you just can't bowl
well. I have bowled 3 times on lanes 1 and
2 this season at our brunswick house, every
time I stunk it up. Even in practice I just
don't perform on these lanes. Last night tried
4 balls, finaly went to plastic and grinded out
a whopping 560. Nothing is wrong with these 2 lanes
as two 700's and two high 600's were shot against
us.

at my home house the lower numbered lanes seem to be tighter(vs. 30-40 where i used to have a league where it was WIDE open everynight)...there are no posts to be next to and i personally like being be a wall..dont have to wait for another person to go next to you.

Well, I don't seem to have that issue at my bowl. Lane 1 always seems to be strange compared to the others but I still have no trouble. I never used to like lane 4 because it used to scratch up our equipment. They fixed it though so its all good at my house.

We have a pair that legends are told of a Satanic ritual being held underneath them.  They were just evil but I don't know if it was that bad.  I finally found something that would work on the pair but it took a long time.

At my home house, it is 15 and 16.  Those 2 lanes begin the "bigger" side of 24 lanes.  The other side is 14 lanes.  15 and 16, although a pair, are always worlds apart.

Funny about the timing of this post.  Last week, we were on 15 and 16.  You can score on them, but you had better be quick, convincing and definitive in your lane read.  By the eighth frame of the first game, I was using a very polished Cherry Messenger (the least reactive ball I own) and on Lane 16, I was using a dull XXXTreme.

My house has 1 and 2.  They're not by an outside wall (actually next to the casino), so that's not the problem.  What they are, consistently, is about 7 boards (sometimes more) different.  2 usually plays very tight while on 1 even I can cover most of the boards.  No one knows why.  It's actually not that I score so poorly there, but it's a real grind keeping track of two sets of transitions.

When I bowl at Gilroy Bowl, I just can't score on lanes 1&2.  Of course, part of this is because the gutteer on lane 1 is right up against the wall, so I can't seem to move far enough left for my right side spares.
