For a while I have been bowling with other peoples cast off's (Balls,Bags,wrist straps even shoes) however recently things have started to fall apart and have or are in the process of being replaced (Shoes,wrist strap,a 3 ball roller when it finally gets here).

In terms of balls I am using a used smokin which was given to me and even though the reaction is resonably consistent on any medium or above lane conditions it leaves me untold 10 pins.

Now because of this my average sucks even though I would say Im my leagues most consistent bowler (Only 20 pins either way between my ave and my highest/lowest sets this season).

So even though my funds are v.limited I have to either use my entire savings to update my arsenal or get used to getting whipped by people who can just pull a suitable ball out of their bags...... I have decide to go with the former.

I am a medium speed stroker/low end tweener who usually plays up the boards though I can play a more out and in line if conditons/equipment allows.I want a heavy oil ball for soup/carrydown and a ball or two for medium conditions which will allow me to keep the smokin in my bag for toasted lanes.

These are the balls I have considered and I would like peoples opinions on a) What they think of the balls b) What drillings would you suggest and c) What you think of the Arsenal as a whole should I go ahead with my purchases:-

Epic Battle
Venus
Voltage (Which is used/donated to me by a friend,I want it "Dull" for Mediums)
Saga (If people suggest it in place of the Venus and I have enough money)

Any help would be most appreciated as this next purchase is going to clean me out and I can't afford any mistakes.
