How do you check pitch? (Xpost)
« on: May 23, 2005, 06:56:55 AM »
Is there a way to check the pitch on my equipment? I ask because I have one ball in particular that just will NOT come off my thumb right. I had the ball drilled the same time as another one, but the same guy, and the other one feels great. But I've tried everything with the one, opening up the thumb hole and such, but it still seems to stick and fly halfway down the lane. I can't get it to roll at all. How would you check the pitch? Is there some kind of tool for that? I actually brought it to the guy, who has a good reputation, but I'm not sure if he actually checked the pitch or not. His stance seemed to be that if he drilled it, the pitch was right. Any help with this?  Sorry for the Xpost, but wasn't sure if people read the Drilling/Layout board much or not.

well, unless you want to buy the tools, which are expencive, just take the balls to another pro shop and ask them to tell you the pitches.
