Unless she is INTO it ...plastic ...it's that simple.

She can go from there.  Drill her conventional, go to fingertip, move to low end resin when she's ready.

IF ...and I mean IF...she wants!

DO NOT PUSH IT!!  She'll like it more if it just happens!!  And one more thing..

Yup. A pink T-Zone can work wonders...

Great starter ball and a little more versatile than plastic.

Virtual Gravity. That will give her the strongest midlane and handle heavier volumes. Plus she'll love the scent and the color.

Who says she even KNOWS what "midlane" means?!  As far as we know, ...LEFTYBOY hasn't told us how "new" she is to bowling....from his initial post, you must assume she knows nothing.  Virtual Gravity???

Jeff you are so right. If she is just begining buy her a Plastic ball that she like the colors of.  Dont try and coach her, just every so often, if she is ready to hear it, give one pointer at a time.  She will be very frustrated at first and will blame you for it.  (been there done that)  Be very supportive of her and congratulate her for all of her small accomplishments.  It can be fun to bowl with a spouse even if they aren't that good.  My wife averages 145 and has for about 4 years and we have fun every week.  I even asked her to sub with me on Friday night this week and it made her day.

But again ... how NEW is she?  If she's a pure starter, ..then you have your answers

Women tend to pick balls that are too light for them.  Most women can throw heavier then they are willing to try.  Keep in mind that if she's using a house ball, she can go up in weight with a ball drilled to fit her.  It will be easier to hold onto.  So if she's using a 10lb house ball, try 12lb purchased ball.

I think some of the most frustration for wives is that their balls deflect so much that they don't have much chance at striking.  Especially if you, their hubby, is striking like crazy.  They won't understand why their ball doesn't do what yours does.  And ball weight it a big contributor.  I'm not saying jump into a 15lb ball, but most women can handle 14 if they are a normal healthy lady.

I too do not suggest jumping into anything stronger then a Noize or Razor, maybe a Bash. If she sticks with bowling she'll want an upgrade rather quickly.  But something of that level and down will be good enough if she's just out there keeping you company.

Thanks but the most she can throw is 12 maybe she has had her wrist broke about 2-3 times (riding a bike) so the dr wont let her throw heavier then 10 possibly 12

Very true. A friend of mine (rather small/slender type) started with a 12 lbs. ball, but once she got used to it and decided to go fingertip she immediately went to 14 lbs., successfully. A good fit changes a lot!

A lot of pro shops have a ball, bag and shoes starter package that includes a plastic ball.

Make sure you go to a pro shop and not Sports Authority or Dick's.
