Will League bowling suvive?
« on: February 02, 2010, 01:52:24 AM »
As a online pro shop owner I can see that league bowling is declining. I asked on another thread about how I can find out just how many. Business has been below average for the past 2 years with the recession and to be honest I think people are giving up. Heck, I am down to 1 league. I used to bowl 3 or 4. I have opened another Business out of bowling and am enjoying it. I will keep the Bowling shop but just for a hobby. You just cannot make money in bowling.

I have to agree with a lot that is being said for the Manager. But that is NOT going to change. What has to change is Us Bowlers get more Bowlers or Leagues will be gone. I agree that the seasons are too long. The 1 league I bowl in bowls 32 weeks. But the one that I quit bowls 35 weeks. That league tried to get it doen but the house said We could bowl 32 weeks but would have to pay for 35 weeks. I thought a contract was a contract and the league had some say on things? Online and Offline Pro Shops will make it if the big guys don't lower their prices to cost. Sure it helps the consumer. But remember folks, everyone including Me is trying to make a living at it.

Didn't you say earlier that your internet shop is not your main income?  Now you are trying to make a living on it?  Well which is it?

Maybe I misspoke. My Bowling Shop is My main income. I do another Business also but not nearly as much as I like the Bowling Shop. Sorry if I made a mistake.
