Years back I know for a fact that BRUNSWICK stated that sanding a particle ball with anything BUT Trizact would cut the particles in addition to the cover..... a guy by the name of tom that worked for them told me this in an email.... Now brunswick reps specifically you are stating otherwise...... Wow... May not be the case with the newer stuff but the older stuff (when particles 1st came out) was so.... or so I was told by a rep....

That's the gist of it.  Older stuff, ask the manufacturer.  New stuff, pretty much anything goes.  Expensive, fancy finishing systems like Trizact just aren't practical when sandpaper, scotchbrite, and abralon work just fine.

Brunswick started using the trizact paper because of their proactive coverstocks.
The proactive coverstock was so hard/abrasive that it wore out regular sandpaper
very fast. So they started pushing Trizact. Not because it wouldn't hurt the particles.
But trizact is expensive, its cheaper to use regular wet and dry sandpaper. throw it away and get a new sheet.

The thing with using sandpaper on particle balls was. That the paper knocked the edges and points off the particle in the cover. Thus losing the grip they gave.

Thats why the nylon pads(Scottbrite) came to the for front. they supposedly just removed the material, but didn't damage the particles.
