What's the sizzle

What's the sizzle that makes you want to buy a particular bowling ball? Is it seeing the pros using one on TV. The ad hype of lastest and greatest hook monster or just a matter of hearing thunderous strikes in your league and asking that person what ball they are throwing so you can get one. Maybe you just want to be the first in your house to have a particular ball. So, what's the sizzle, and it can't be because it's there!

It is usaully seeing it thrown by somone in my leagues that I respect and has similiar style to mine or being thrown by somone who has no clue and is all of a sudden shooting the lights out with it that gets me curious.  That is what I am seeing with the Cell right now.  Poor bowlers throwing big numbers with that thing.  I just dont see how I could keep it on the lane.

For me it's finding out what a particular ball is supposed to do and whether thats a good fit to my game. Whether that's just hearing about it through shop talk or seeing someone with a similar game using it.

When I hear nothing but positive remarks about a ball, such as the Cell, that gets me interested.

I look for equipment that provides a different look. Not just more hook. That why I like the Cell. I can take almost any ball polish it up and throw 15 to 5 and back on a THS. I try more to fill gaps for tougher tournament type of shots.
